It was our first time at The Jealous Monk in Mystic! The atmosphere is cozy and lively, with a fun European-beer-hall vibe. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was good and had reasonable prices. Also lots of craft beer options.
Overall , it’s a great spot for a casual meal, drinks with friends, or a relaxed night out in Mystic.

Stopped in for a quick bite after visiting the aquarium and it did not disappoint! Lots of others also had this idea, but we only had to wait 5 min. Service was excellent and speedy on New Year’s Day with lots of patrons. We got the boneless wings, clam chowder, and pretzel with beer cheese. Everything was delicious, the wings were SO crunchy I was thinking about them all day! Mocktail was also excellent. We will be back when we are in the area again!

This was a great find. The food was delicious and came out fast. Brian our server was excellent considering how busy it was Saturday afternoon. The drinks were delicious. The parking seemed to be plentiful but we got bad directions and parked farther away than needed. We are looking forward to going back again soon.

Stopped in at Jealous Monk for breakfast, which is not something you normally think of here since it’s better known as a German-style beer hall. The menu was definitely different than your usual breakfast spot—and it worked. The eggs with hash came out in a skillet and were excellent, hearty, and flavorful. The bangers with pancakes were also spot on, a great mix of traditional and nontraditional.
What makes it stand out is how they take classic breakfast dishes and put their own spin on them. Everything we ordered was really well done, and it felt like a fresh take on the usual breakfast routine. Between the food and the atmosphere, it’s an all-around nice place to go for breakfast in Mystic.
Highly recommend giving it a try if you want something a little different from the standard diner-style breakfast.

Awesome experience especially during Octoberfest. 30 plus beers on tab with a great selection of food. The vegetarian wrap is fantastic. Huge bar, tons of tables, and if it’s nice out, check out the patio. There ar TVs all over inside and outside. Excellent service

From out of state. So good we ate here twice while in Mystic. Tried the clam chowder, wings, buffalo chicken Rangoon, fried cod sandwich & pulled pork sandwich. Every bite was delicious! Loved that there was outdoor seating which we opted for both times.

We’ve been to Mystic before, but hadn’t tried this restaurant. We were looking for something local and with good food. This place popped up for us on social media, and we decided to give it a try. They have a wide variety of food and lots to choose from. We got the Buffalo Chicken Rangoon, a 1/2 rack of ribs, the Chicken Schnitzel, and of course the New England Clam Chowder. Everything was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the flavor and everything was made fresh. We will definitely have to stop by again when we’re back in the area!

Beautiful place and ambiance. Excellent service by all staff who are constantly checking on you and helping each other. Coffee was perfectly made to my requests. Corned beef Benny was bland, even after copious amounts of salt and pepper, though that is a matter of personal taste. The food used quality ingredients and had an inviting presentation. A delicious (and complementary) old fashioned bottle of water made the perfect compliment to my brunch! Finally, the lime raspberry cake tasted good, though not moist and somewhat of a Little Debbie cake consistency, which was the only part of the meal I wouldn’t recommend. Overall a pleasant experience I’d highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood, as I happened to drive by.
