We celebrated a great first visit to JD’s Mission Steakhouse on Saturday, December 13th at 6:00 PM, and we’re already planning our return.
This restaurant offers a very relaxed, low-key atmosphere—it definitely leans into an older, classic steakhouse vibe with its simple booth and table seating. The exterior is quite unassuming and could use better lighting, and the interior isn’t modern (we were slightly surprised by the presence of TVs), but don’t let the dated look fool you.
### Culinary Highlights & Details:
* **The Steaks:** The stars of the show!
We ordered the New York Strip (with asparagus and a baked potato) and the Ribeye (with garlic mash and roasted corn). Both were cooked to absolute perfection. Though they carried a bit more external fat than expected, the flavor was superb and ultimately delicious.
* **Sides:**
The sides were solid across the board—the garlic mash, baked potato, asparagus, and roasted corn all complemented the main courses well.
* **Appetizer/Bread:**
The Caesar salad was just okay. The complimentary dinner rolls were a split decision: my wife loved them, but they weren’t my preference.
**The Defining Factor: Exceptional Service**
The true highlight of the evening was the incredible customer service. Our server (a friendly young lady with red hair, whose name we regrettably missed) was incredibly friendly, attentive, and patient. Her attention to detail elevated the entire dining experience.
**To our server:**
Thank you! Your excellent service is the best part of our visit.
Summary
While JD’s Mission Steakhouse’s exterior is dark and the interior lacks modern flair, the combination of fantastic steak flavor and outstanding customer service makes it a clear winner. We look forward to returning soon to continue supporting this local gem!
The ambience is a little drabby, dark booths and sticky sauce bottles on the table.
There’s a road closure on the street they are on, so we had to go around the long way to get to them.
Will I go back? Probably not.
We’re new kids on the block. It’s our 4th day in Jurupa Valley & we found this delicious steak house.
It was Sunday, just missed brunch so had dinner at 230pm. It wasn’t really busy. The music was from our generation, the 90s. Our server was OSCAR & he was amazing. Very attentive, great attitude & gave us great attention without being overwhelming.
The food YUMMY! Started off with some fresh guacamole, fresh made tortilla chips & a special order of spicey salsa. HOLY MOLLY! I couldn’t stop eating it!
Next, the boys ordered Ribeye steak platers. Very tasty , good texture meat. Us girls had one California Salad and a cesar salad with grilled chicken on side. The dressings & meat tenderness delicious. Soup of the day, chicken cream soup. Lots of chunks of chicken, tender veggies, creamy sauce. So satisfying.
2 shots, 3 beers & 3 ice teas under $240. We’ll be coming back to experience their brunch next Sunday. Can’t wait!!
Picture of my dirty water glass and rare steak.
When you come, don’t be fooled by the outside. The restaurant is very friendly and affordable.
Thank you everyone.the for
