I love Caribbean food and JD is one of the few places that maintain their originality. While I other a lot of their dishes online I haven’t been into the restaurant itself. But the food so far was really good. I just wish the fried plantain was a little more ripe, that’s a personal preference.

I ordered an oxtail plate and mind you it’s $30. I got a plate with nothing but rice in it and the oxtails are way too tough. I called about not having the side to come with it like Mac and cheese or cabbage. He said that a salad would have came with it but they ran out, which would have been nice to know before you took my money.

I can’t even say if the food is good or not because every time I order my order gets turned away because they select a daily menu as I was told by the very rude worker on the phone and yet they advertise a full menu. If my order has been turned away 5 times for a order of oxtails they must not be to great.

Great example of don’t listen to reviews and try it for yourself! The Ox tail was great and I had enough left over for dinner. The staff was great even when talking in a different language he kept me involved in the conversation. I recommend everyone give this place a try!

The cashier had a bad attitude.
I order Oxtails and they were TOUGH WITH VERY LITTLE MEAT ON THE BONES. THE RICE AND BEANS TASTED LIKE THEY CAME OUT OF A BOX. WHAT A WASTE OF $29.

Don’t order the oxtails, $29 wasted on hard dry meat, pause. Plantains hard and no sweetness, beans and rice would of been better off just using zatarains. Funky side of salad, horrible. Fool me once

My wife and I did like the ox tails and the fried turkey was ok. We did not like the fish.

The service was terrible. They ran out of every item. Their website doesn’t match their prices in store and when I asked the owner talked down to me saying it’s the old owner. I told him it’s linked to their google information. The food is okay. But way overpriced for the quality and quantity. I have no issues paying for great food. But here you get four small pieces of ox tail with some rice and beans and a handful of salad for 29 dollars.

I dropped in to this place because I hadn’t had Caribbean food before. I was pleasantly surprised by the food I received as it was so full of flavor and I could tell that a lot of time and preparation went into it. The atmosphere needs rethought but hey, I went there for the food and delicious offerings is what I got so great job guys!

I want to explain why I don’t support businesses like this. While traveling to Evansville, IN, I wanted to try a Haitian restaurant. I ordered medium griot platters and was charged $19.66, which shocked me because of what I received. I remained calm but ultimately left the food on the counter and told them they could keep it. Caribbean Cuisine should be ashamed of themselves.
