Great service and amazing Pizzas!! Probobably the best in the area. The buffalo chicken dip was also an amazing treat. Chicken Wings was a bust but overall experience was 9/10

If you’re looking for the ultimate game-day headquarters, JC’s Coal Oven Pizza is where the Fighting Irish belong! This place takes the spirit of Notre Dame and fires it up with legendary food, cold beer, and a crowd that knows how to cheer. Alumni, fans, and anyone who loves great food—this is YOUR spot.

Start your feast with the Indiana iconic buffalo chicken dip creamy, tangy, with just the right kick. Pair it with a round of their perfectly crisp wings and you’ll already feel like you scored the first touchdown of the day. But don’t stop there… because at JC’s, pizza isn’t just pizza it’s a tradition. Fresh ingredients, crispy coal-fired crust, and toppings stacked like a winning roster. Have a couple pies on the table to chase that amazing beer selection, and you’ll be fueled up for every big play.

The staff are friendly, fast, and as invested in the energy as the fans chanting “GO IRISH!” This isn’t just a restaurant it’s a game-day experience, a community, and a celebration of everything great about football season.

Whether you’re alumni, a die-hard Notre Dame fan, or just someone who loves incredible pizza and unbeatable vibes get to JC’s. Grab a cold beer, load up your plates, and cheer loud. Victory tastes a whole lot like coal-oven perfection.

We tried J&C Coal Oven Pizza for the first time tonight (Tuesday evening), and it was such a great experience. It was just the two of us and everything felt welcoming from the moment we walked in.
One thing I really loved is that the coal-fired oven is in plain view of the dining area, so you can actually watch your pizza being cooked. It adds to the atmosphere and makes the experience feel more authentic.

We started with the garlic cheese bread appetizer, and it was delicious. We built our own pizza with Alfredo sauce, chicken, Roma tomatoes, red onions, and spinach, and it was fresh and clearly made to order. Next time we’ll definitely add the roasted garlic.

While the food was great, what really made the night stand out was the service. Our server Emmalynn was fantastic—sweet, inviting, and very attentive the entire time. She checked in at the right moments, made sure we had everything we needed, and truly made the experience enjoyable.

Honestly, this was the best experience I’ve had eating out since the pandemic, and I will absolutely be coming back—largely because of the great service we received. Highly recommend!

What a great time. Food was very good, for appetizers we had the meatballs, garlic bread, chicken buffalo dip, and the spin dip. Everything was on point, very flavorful and good portions. Then we had a few pizzas. The hot honey pizza was not spice at all, I was looking forward to something with kick, it seemed more just like a sweet pepperoni pizza. Then there was the margharite pizza which was decent, could have used a little more cheese. The Hawaiian was solid, nothing special but still good. And lastly was the Al and Mic, that was delicious!

Overall great food, well priced and a great time. Would go again.

My wife and I tried their pizza on a whim, I saw them on yelp when we moved to Granger and wanted to try it. It took us way too long to try JC’s. We got the “Al and Mic’s” and it was amazing. Great sauce, toppings tasted fresh and good quality, and the best part of all was the crust; crispy, light, and with a good char. The staff were also extremely polite and attentive. My wife and I have had a lot of different pizzas in our lives and this is one of the best. We plan to make JC’s a main stay in our circle of favorite places. A must try.

We’ve been here before, but I’ve never written a review….The owner, Jesse and his beautiful fiance Jamie, are such a blessing on top of having a great restaurant with amazing pizza! My family has been displaced from our home and have been living in a hotel next to the restaurant. So they normally aren’t open on Mondays, but were open especially for the Indiana/Miami championship game tonight. My kiddos asked for pizza and I placed the carryout order. I came in to pick up the order and Jesse greeted me when I went to the pick up area. We got to talking and the living at the hotel came up in conversation…He immediately showed us the goodness of God and blessed us with our dinner. I just began to ugly cry and pray the Lord’s greatest blessings over them and their business (I will add their staff here as well). Thank you God for Your goodness and thank you, Jesse for your sensitivity to the Lord’s prompting. Excellent food, excellent owners, excellent staff! 1 Corinthians 10:31 says whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

If I could give a 0 just from service and food I would. This is NOT our first time there but likely will be our last. We arrived Friday (2/20) night (use that information to know who the bartender was) & granted, the establishment was a little packed so we were okay with waiting. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip, wings and two personal pizzas. My pizza came out first & was cold, had banana peppers literally dumped on one slice like they forgot about it originally; then came his pizza. We asked about the dip, she said there were two separate ovens – one in the back & that’s why it was taking so long -_- but magically the dip came out right away and it was clearly just cream cheese that was mixed quickly with no spinach or artichokes or flavor. So then I ask about the wings because he’s basically finished with his pizza… the bartender/waitress replies, “there’s nothing I can do about the oven.” Mind you, we’ve now been here 90mins. It’s okay to be busy or even if she forgot to request the order of the wings but to have an attitude and be downright rude while we’ve been patiently waiting to get bad pizzas with little cheese, minimal toppings & sit the duration of our service and still not get all of our food is just unacceptable. I usually never right reviews unless the service was horrendous or outstanding. This service was HORRENDOUS. We’ve been here on Tuesday nights, nights when the owner was there, even on semi-busy nights but this takes the cake where truly, we stated we doubt we’ll ever go back. We’re locals (literally live 5mins away) & like to support local places especially a place we used to frequent before the remodel. This was sad. Bartender had a disgusting attitude & the food was 2/10. To say we were disappointed is an understatement because the owner is great but this service we had to report. Unacceptable.

During our visit to Notre Dame, we stopped by this restaurant and were absolutely blown away. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the service was easily some of the best we’ve ever experienced. When one of our dishes wasn’t available, they didn’t just apologize—they went above and beyond by offering an incredible lasagna substitute that turned out to be one of the highlights of our meal. They even offered a gift card to make up for the inconvenience!
What really set this place apart, though, was the outstanding customer service. Our waiter actually walked with us back to our hotel to help carry our food—something you just don’t see anymore. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly made our night.
We will definitely be returning the next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

We went for lunch as a family and were warmly greeted by who I think was the owner. He sat us and brought my younger kiddos pizza dough to play with which they loved. It was messy but easy to clean off their clothes later.

We ordered the garlic bread knots and a half cheese half hot honey pepperoni pizza. The hot honey pepperoni was very good. The bread knots were a little dry and the cheese pizza was pretty basic which is why I only give food four stars but overall the food was great.

My niece and I drove in from Michigan, and were very pleased with our first visit to JC’s! The food was absolutely delicious! I met the owner, and the majority of the staff! What a beautiful family-friendly atmosphere! We loved the Caesar Salad & the dressing, croutons and cheese were scrumptious! We also enjoyed a pizza with plenty to take with us for another meal! A BONUS was that on the day we were enjoying our dinner, JC’s was baking a HUGE order for the Notre Dame Football Team! ND can order from ANY pizza restaurant in the country, and I’m sure their players can really EAT! They must want and need delicious, high quality food! We definitely linked up with the BEST making today our FIRST but not our last dinner at JC’s! Make it a point to eat at JC’s! You’ll love the food!
