We wanted to sit and eat somewhere after our drive from Los Angeles. We were in town for our friends wedding and came across this spot. We walked up to the hostess and we were seated fairly quickly on a Sunday. It took about 20 minutes for us to get acknowledged by a Latino waiter. We had to call him in order for us to place our order. While we waited for the food, we saw all the waiters giving everyone else water and skipped our table a few times. We never got any water refill. No one checked on us for about 40 minutes. We asked the same Latino waiter about our food and he said soon. We waited for about 15 more minutes when our food finally came out. Once he brought the food, he never came back to ask us how we were doing or how the food was. We were a table of three brown girls. It felt like we were outcasts. Everyone else got amazing service and we had to ask or flag the waiters for help. Do not recommend if you want people who have internalized racism help you out.
The waiter that was supposed to help us was Esteban. He tried arguing with me when I asked him why he ignored us several times. He got flustered and I just wanted the check.
Edit: 11/16/25 by the way, I am a Latina woman and you proved my point by the way you answered. I never asked for free food, or needed it.

Stopped here on our walk to have brunch.
Did not disappoint. Avocado Toast was EXCELLENT with an easy egg on top. The potatoes were just ok. But the Service, Esteben was the Bomb!!!! We will def be back. Love the out door seating with lots of fans to cool you off.

Wow!!!! just when I was about to throw the towel on breakfast, I stumbled upon this beautiful and delicious spot! So good I didn’t even had to edit the images, they speak for themselves . Great cook , breakfast is back! I will have to come back and trying the sandwich next time. The servers were super kind and dressed for the occasion, they were completely professional and courteous, I tend to get breakfast alone and I get weird looks sometimes but not at JC cafe. This cafe blew my expectations and it is larger on the inside, truly welcomed and felt good energy . Thank you ! ✨️

Food selection is excellent and delicious. My sister ordered 1/2 French dip sandwich with minestrone soup. I ordered the half pastrami melt and coleslaw. Everything was delicious, nothing overcooked. The service was friendly and timely. This is definitely a go to Cafe while shopping at El Paseo in Palm Springs. I highly recommend this Café.

Ordered the Machaca breakfast burrito with potatoes on the side. It was mind blowing. The seasoning they used on the potatoes was incredible and the shredded beef in the burrito was to die for. Wife got eggs and fruit also a 10/10. Was so good we will be coming back for breakfast tomorrow! Service was very attentive and friendly couldn’t have asked for anything more. Must try if you’re in the area.

The place was very busy, but seating moved fast, minimizing wait time. Service was great all around and the food was very good. The belgian waffles are probably the best waffles I’ve ever had, highly recommended. The blue crab Benedict was delicious and a must try if you are into Benedicts. The Machacado Burrito was very tasty, fresh ingredients and the flour tortilla wrapping it was just right. We prefer sharing dishes so we get to try different things, but if you only had to order one, I’d recommend the Benedict or waffles.

What a quaint hidden gem! We almost passed this place by then looked at the menu. The prices were WAY better than other surrounding restaurants. We chose to sit outside by a fountain. The food tasted so so good!! I had a California scramble with eggs, potatoes, avacado and toast. If you eat here, definitely try the potatoes! They were cooked to perfection! Our server was so friendly and helpful. Definitely one to remember for our next visit!
