This place is a golden treasure just waiting to be found. Down to earth, inviting, nothing fancy, priced right, and most importantly good food. Casual attire and welcoming. Portions were good, food was delicious, and staff extremely friendly and were more than willing to answer all our questions. Yolanda, our waitress (in the picture, was exceptional). Grilled scallops were amazing, delicious, and cooked to perfection. The blackened shrimp in turns out are a local favorite and understandably so. Recommendation, for $4 more upgrade from 1/2 pound to 1 pound. More to share with those not ordering them themselves. Mac and Cheese was amazing. Soft drinks include free refills. Overall, I can easily give this place and its staff, from our waitresses and the cooks, a 5 star rating and I rarely give a full 5 star review. There are those that might try to hem and haw over the lack of upper level sophisticated decor, but those are reviewers who focus more on the aesthetics than the overall feel and vibe of the place. Pay twice as much and feel hungry 30 minutes later if you want but in my opinion, this place is spot on and well worth it. I hope that one day the proprietor(s) decide to share the love in more places.

I would give this place a 10 star rating if I could! Its a small dive only a hop and a skip from I-95 that’s turning out amazing seafood. We had “small appetite” baskets of fried shrimp and oysters with a side of fried okra. The shrimp basket had 10 large shrimp and the oyster basket had 8-10 oysters, with all of it fried to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I can’t imagine how large the regular baskets are! The fried okra and hush puppies had a nice crunch, and the beer was ice cold. Our waitress Abbey was friendly and checked on us regularly. Don’t miss this place if you are in the area and feeling hungry. We will definitely be back on our next trip down I-95.

We stopped here because it was on the way home from Jekyll Island, and it did NOT disappoint
Bathrooms were very clean.
Tables were wiped and ready for you to sit down.
Our waitress Eulonda was phenomenally kind, knew exactly how much time to give us to choose. My beer was ice cold and the other drinks to the table came out fast.
We had 2 fried shrimp baskets. The shrimp was crunchy but moist.
The fries have a separate coating on them that give them an extra crunch.
Hushpuppies were perfectly fried, seasoned and a good size.
Also to the table was a ribeye steak sandwich. Tender meat, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and condiments come on the side, came with 1 side, I chose coleslaw. It was also good, especially with fresh cracked pepper and salt, which they had on the tables.

Speaking of, the caddy on the table was well stocked with a whole roll of paper towels, clean & filled tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and their very own BBQ/A1 garlicy type sauce. Bottles were clean and not greasy at all.
The sauce was good too!
The pepper and salt glass bottles were also wiped clean.
Thats huge to me because it tells you how well the waitresses cares for their restaurant.
Back to the food….
Another meal to the table was the spotted trout, fried. It came with fries, a roll and Mac & cheese. Mac & cheese was legit. It had a nice breaded crust to it as well. Nicely seasoned and cheesey. Noodles were cooked well, not mushy.
Fish was fried whole minus the head.
We really enjoyed our experience here. The staff were exceptional, all helping each other to care for the guests of the restaurant.
Things move smoothly with this group working.
I definitely suggest finding this place and eating here!

Okay, I know what you’re thinking because I was thinking the same thing, how good can a shrimp joint be, right of the interstate? Let me tell you, FANTASTIC! My wife had the 1/2 pound shrimp, it appeared a tad more than a 1/2 pound, delicious! We on our way from home from 10 said on the Gulf Coast, JB’s blew everything out of the water that we had on the Gulf. I had the grilled Flounder sandwich, it was excellent. Service was fantastic. The entire restaurant is decorated with fishing equipment. Do yourself a favor, this is a MUST STOP. They even gave a military discount.

Great place to eat clean seafood that’s cooked correctly. Staff is very on top of things and knows the menu well. Traveling through the state and I’m glad we stopped in for dinner.

We were traveling through the area on our way from Florida to North Carolina and we were looking for a something that wasn’t a fast food / chain restaurant. I am so glad we saw the Google reviews and decided to eat here! My husband ordered a Blackened Shrimp Platter with Mustard Greens and Cole Slaw and I had the Fried Shrimp Basket with Okra. Both styles of shrimp tasted fresh, clean, and so delicious and the okra was amazing as well! Hubby really enjoyed the Cole Slaw too. Our waitress was great!

I was in the area and wanted some good fried catfish and I came across this hidden gem! The food was so good and they give a good portion for the pice! I got the catfish fry Friday/shrimp with cheese grits & baked beans. The atmosphere was so welcoming and my server was awesome! Forgot to her name. I recommend trying it out.

This is my first time here. When I walked in the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Cindy and Yolanda were such joy to speak with. I ordered a togo order with Cindy. She answered all my questions that I had. Then I ordered the gator tail for an appetizer. The shrimp platter with fries and baked beans as dinner. The food was fabulous. It looked good and tasted good as well. Cindy also made sure that I had gator sauce with ranch, cocktail sauce and tarter sauce. What a great first experience.

The restaurant is inside of an old waffle house. Pretty neat. The waitress was kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I had fried shrimp, cheese grits and squash and zucchini casserole. The casserole was out of this world!!!! So, so good. We got the 1-lb of fried shrimp, with two sides. $28. Then I ordered 2 more sides at $3.95 per side.
The shrimp were a good size. 5 of them filled me up along with the sides.
Highly recommend.

We were driving home from a road trip and decided to stop at JB’s Shrimp Shack for dinner — and wow, it blew my expectations out of the water! The food was incredible — definitely stop by and grab some fish and grits, you won’t regret it! Our waitress, Eulanda, was amazing. She had great customer service and was super patient with my indecisiveness. Such a great experience all around!
