Was not expecting the 45 minutes that we had to wait.. Our food was burnt and despite the friendly lady at the front..This took away from the experience.. Even though she did replace the food with something else, the joy of eating was gone. So maybe we got them on an off day.. I hope so..

I am from Jackson and was visiting Meridian for the first time since I was a little girl. JBs was close to where I was staying. It was very clean outside and there was ample parking. The inside was equally clean and well maintained. The food was cooked fresh and really good. I got the grilled large burger. They didn’t have the buns for the smaller one. It was awesome, and you could really taste the smoke in the beef patty. VERY GOOD. It was cooked to order but I didn’t have to wait long. The inhouse menu on the wall had the pricing covered up and there were things on the menu that was not offered anymore or was priced separate and no longer combined so they need to get that updated because that’s off-putting when coming in as a new customer. Overall, I had a good experience, and I would go back again to get the burger and try other things on the menu

My wife and I got the Brisket plate. This is the best brisket we have had. It was at least a half of pound. Tender and no fat. Best smoke flavor! You do not need any sauce, though they provide some. Good service, very polite.

The Bad: The bored, dirty looking fellow with the beard. Usually leaning on the counter…yawning with his mouth wide open! His body language expresses, that he doesn’t want to be there. Bored, disinterested, seems to be inpatient. He needs to work on improving his customer service skills. cover your mouth or keep it closed when yawning, and work on your grooming!!.

10/10!!!!! I’ve had numerous different items from the North Hills Poplar Springs location and not once felt like I should’ve ordered something else. Each time I was definitely satisfied and the prices aren’t bad at all especially the daily specials. Highly recommend the rib tips and the burger special.

Joe’s food was okay I had the catfish and it was not good. The fries green tomatoes were burnt and the fish taste like mud. I wouldn’t order it again. Joe’s barbecue ribs were great. I really enjoyed eating the ribs.

I had never been, so I wasn’t sure what to order. There is a large menu directly facing the door as well as smaller laminated ones at the bar by the door. Every employee that I came into contact with was pleasant and helpful. I ordered the rib sandwich. It smelled and tasted delicious. It was just like eating ribs at my family’s barbecues. I will definitely go back.

My first time going here. I’m From Michigan so it’s always good to travel to good places to eat. Anybody in town go and try it. They have a great variety of food. They also have a seated area to watch tv while you enjoy your meal. Good people work here. Great hospitality and good food Jb’s.

Really HIGH price for a really SMALL sandwich ! And I also got charged a service fee ! One SMALL pulled pork sandwich ONLY, nothing else cost me TOTAL $12.15. I would have just walked out but I didn’t want to insult the cashier !!
