The volunteer waitress was cordial, which we appreciated. But if we talk about the food during a slow lunch, we were disappointed. With high reviews, we were hoping to get better grubs. Not to sound ungrateful, but the salad was too plain, our little guy didn’t like the dried tater, and the chips were leathery bitter burned taste. It’s a good thing they served pieces of fruits for our little guy who was so hungry driving all the way up to New Jersey. We liked the garden, the store across the street and hoping to get a glimpse of John, but it was asking too much. We were just glad to have partaken with the facility that John & Dorothea established to help their community. So, we paid our bills for 3 and donated another $50 then took off.

Can’t say enough about the staff. They are so friendly and make you feel like a part of the family. They even had a water bowl for our dogs. The food was amazing and everything was so fresh.

The food is very good! Better than many restaurants in the area. It’s just a great idea and why not help others well you get a nice meal? Just remember that you only pay what you can. If you decide you want to give more as a donation that is up to you.

I come here several times a season & the meals are always incredibly fresh, delicious and ultimately serves a great purpose! The staff is super friendly & the portions are generous. I always have leftovers. I highly recommend it to all my friends in our town next door, Middletown. My son works across the street at Sickle’s so we love to pop in for breakfast before his weekend shift. Try it – you’ll love it!!

One of my Best Friend’s and I had the pleasure of dining there last night .. We were super excited to go.. we loved it ❤ the food was excellent and the employees were awesome !!! Such a beautiful atmosphere…It felt so good to donate and pay it forward..we bought some items for sale as well .. 2 tee shirts, a mug and there famous Soul Seasoning!!! We loved this place,everyone was super friendly and the food was great. The salad was so good. I had pork loin and my husband had baked chicken. So good we paid the suggested 30 a piece plus 20 more. I didn’t mind because since it was A10 hour drive I’m sure I won’t be back ever. If I was closer I’d go at least once a month. Jon and Dorthea should open one here in Cleveland
