The staff were all incredibly kind & welcoming. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We tried 2 different kinds of soup (spicy Mala w/ Mushroom & tonkatu w/ beef slices) as well as 2 types of dumplings (the black truffle & a spicy option.) To finish it all off we did the lotus pear dumpling dessert. It was the perfect way to end the meal (as well as the cutest reusable take out bag ever!) Noting that I did mark my meal as $30-40 per person, but we had two apps and a dessert!

I ordered the bone broth noodle soup with beef shank and my partner ordered the pork ramen. Both soups were a generous portion (we easily could have shared one soup). The broth was rich and flavorful and the noodles were soft and delicious. The wait staff were kind and attentive. The space is very nice with a variety of seating options. Location is nearby plenty of shops and nightlife, a great place to go out for dinner and explore Allentown. Overall a great new addition to the area.

First time visiting.
I stopped into JBC during a bit of a lull in the day, and honestly? That worked perfectly for me. The space felt warm and calm. If you’re someone who gets even slightly anxious about eating alone (hi, it’s me ‍♀️), this is a comfortable place to do it. No awkward hovering, no feeling singled out. Just peaceful and welcoming.

My server, Summer, was lovely. She spoke calmly and carried herself in a way that felt grounding. As someone whose anxiety can flare up easily, that kind of energy doesn’t go unnoticed. It was genuinely appreciated.

I ordered the chicken and ginger dumplings, the vegetable ramen, and I’m currently staring down the lotus pear dessert as I write this.

The standout for me was the vegetable ramen. The broth tasted fresh and had just enough spice to lightly tickle the lips without overpowering anything. On a chilly Buffalo day, this is exactly what you want. The bowl was packed with vegetables, and I really enjoyed the variety of textures. The broth supported everything beautifully instead of stealing the show. It felt balanced.

The dumplings were comforting and savory, and I’m excited to dig into the dessert next.

I’m giving 4 stars simply because this was my first visit and I’ve only tried a small sample of what they offer — and there were a lot of tempting options on that menu. Between the setting, the service, and the food itself, I see good things for this place.

I’ll absolutely be back.

One week later…

Maybe it’s overeager to review a place twice in a week — but my first solo visit had me genuinely looking forward to coming back. This time, I brought a friend.
We came mid-day and grabbed a cozy corner seat. Emma was our server and her energy was wonderful — attentive, enthusiastic, and happy to guide us through the dim sum options. Summer greeted us and even remembered my drink from last week, which felt like such a small but meaningful touch.
This visit was all about dim sum. I don’t claim to be an etiquette expert, but I do know good food when I taste it.
If you go, start with the platter. It’s balanced and thoughtfully curated — nothing felt repetitive or overwhelming. Each piece had its own moment. The chicken and corn surprised me the most texture-wise, in a good way. It was a smooth transition into the rest of the lineup.
We followed that with fried dumplings, and once again… I couldn’t resist the chicken and ginger. Apparently, I have a favorite and I’m not fighting it.
Emma was gracious and attentive, clearing plates at just the right time — especially when my eyes convinced my stomach it had more capacity than it actually did.
But we absolutely saved room for dessert.
We split the mango cheesecake.
We regretted splitting it immediately.
It was that good.
I’m still thinking about it.
We left already planning “Dim Sum Saturdays” once a month, which says everything.

From me — stars, JBC. You’ve nailed the cozy cold-weather vibe, and I’m genuinely excited to see what this place feels like in the summer.

See you soon.

Was excited about this place because the lack of dumpling places in Buffalo. Unfortunately the Chicken Ginger dumplings were burnt and didn’t expect pan fried dumplings. It said it on the menu but it’s rare which I missed it that. Black truffle dumplings were pretty average. The dumplings dough was too thick and the top of them were not soft like a normal steamed dumpling would be. Service was fine. Mine was very nice but had horrible breath. Music also kept going up and down for some reason. The windows def need a cleaning. I’m going to try again and file this under just opening and figuring it out.

Such a nice experience! I live nearby and had been meaning to stop by the restaurant, and I’m so glad I did. The food is amazing! I had fried gyoza and beef udon, both were delicious, really well prepared with high-quality ingredients. I love gyoza, and these were absolutely the best I’ve had. The beef udon was really rich and savory, and the noodles were the perfect texture. Very generous portions too. Everyone in the restaurant was super friendly and welcoming, and they really went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my meal. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out!

So glad we have a dumpling and ramen spot in Allentown! The Tonkatsu Ramen was flavorful, ramen was cooked perfectly and big enough for my husband and I to share! We also went by other reviews here and ordered the dumpling platter and I can confirm, it is amazing! It has a variety of popular dumplings which are all delicious. The atmosphere is cute, comfortable and well lit and our waiter Matt was friendly attentive and gave great service!
