Incredibly boring Indian food that was fine. Service was so bland, and the ambiance just wasn’t it. Lots of great Indian food in NYC, you don’t need mediocrity

Wonderful Indian restaurant in Hell’s kitchen.
Sat for a meal with friends before a local show.
Jaz herself greated us and discussed menu items as we all had different tastes and dishes we wanted
The food came prompt and very well prepared. Our server was very attentive and kept things moving along.
Jaz checked in to see if we were all pleased.
Nicely outfitted with table clothes and napkins.
The effort shows and I would say it pays off.
Really enjoyed my dinner. I recommend this restaurant if your in the area for a show or if you want to just try it out. Plenty of metered parking on the avenues.
Thanks Jaz

Jaz Indian is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in NYC. Just a short walk from Times Square and the Theater District, it’s the perfect spot for a pre-or post-Broadway meal. We happened upon it by chance, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip to New York.
The restaurant is owned and run by Jaz and her family, and their warmth shows in every detail. The menu focuses on authentic British curry house favorites, cooked to perfection. I was even treated to an off-menu green curry — without question the best curry I’ve ever had in New York City.
Service here is outstanding. The staff went above and beyond for a birthday celebration happening the same night, making the evening feel personal and special for everyone in the room.
If you’re searching for authentic Indian food near Broadway, Times Square, or Midtown Manhattan, Jaz Indian is a must-visit. Incredible food, welcoming service, and true hospitality, this hidden gem deserves to be on every NYC food lover’s list.

We are visiting from out of state and were recommended this place by a local. 10/10! I have had a lot of Indian food, and this was truly the best butter chicken I’ve ever had! The owner, Jaz, is phenomenal. We spent the last half hour with her just chatting and hearing about her restaurant. Her mission is to make it feel like you are in her kitchen, and it truly felt that way!
We ordered the lemon rice, garlic naan (amazing!), butter chicken, and chicken vindaloo. We wrapped it up with some kulfi ice cream and gulab jamun at Jaz’s suggestion, and I’m so glad we did!

Food wasn’t that good and was overpriced didn’t taste Indian at all no spices no nothing it was bland to be frank if you’re looking for Indian food this restaurant isn’t it doesn’t seem authentic at all. Service was pretty good she recommended us what to order. Atmosphere is a bit too small. Maybe the food used to be good but it’s not anymore.

Jaz is absolutely amazing. Her restaurant and her incredible personality further made our first time experience at her restaurant top notch. I’ve lived in London for many years and Jaz did a fantastic job of bringing indian cuisine from the UK to NYC. I’m a bit delayed in this post but we went lunchtime during American football and she put the game on for us at the bar where we were seated when she realized we were trying to watch on my phone. Her cocktails are also incredible and she takes the time to get to know her customers so she can make recommendations on your return. It’s a very close knit vibe and i highly recommend this place both for the food and the company of Jaz and everyone else who works there. We will be back!

This place ruined our plans in the best possible way. Dinner was so good that we ditched our group reservation at a different restaurant the following night and came straight back here. That almost never happens, which tells you everything.
The food was bold, rich, and clearly cooked by people who care deeply about doing it the right way. Every dish hit with real depth of flavor, not watered down, not playing it safe. The spices were layered, balanced, and confident. This is old-school Indian cooking done properly, not a shortcut in sight.
Service was warm and welcoming, the kind that makes you want to linger instead of rush out. By the end of the first meal we were already planning round two, and the second visit confirmed it was no fluke.
If a restaurant makes you cancel other plans just to come back, that is the highest compliment there is. Jaz earned it. Go hungry and trust them.

Food was very good. We ordered tandoori chicken, lamb chops, paneer tikka masala and lamb rogan josh. Tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly. The kids liver the paneer it was sweet and the sauce had authentic flavor with hints of cardamom. Everyone loved the mango kulfi. They were warm and hospitable even on a busy winter evening. Would recommend highly.

Didn’t get a chance to at least drink the water. Tried using a Groupon to get a good deal, $60 food voucher. As soon as I mentioned that to the owner her attitude completely shifted. She wanted to charge me an 18% tip from the BEGINNING, there was no food served, didn’t even taste the water and she wanted to make sure I was going to pay that before they gave me any service. in her words “an 18% tip is required.” I told her that a tip is NEVER required. A tip is OPTIONAL and based on service/experience. her response to that was “this is New York City, everyone pays that.” I told her, well I don’t pay tips before any service. Got up and left. not ever worth the time again to stop by there. Websters Dictionary “tip”: a small sum of money given to someone as a reward for performing a service, such as serving in a restaurant.
Again a tip is an option not a requirement, don’t get it twisted.
