Went on a Sunday late afternoon. Pretty sure we were the only customers in the restaurant. Server and quick and attentive. Ordered the Sushi Deluxe and a Super Roll. Everything came out quick, again probably bc we were only ones in the restaurant. However, I will say the rolls were really big and very good. We enjoyed everything and with the menu options, we will definitely be back to try some of the other sushi rolls, Ramen, and grill. 100% would recommend. Very good food.

When we first walked in it looked closed but the door opened so we walked in to be greeted and seated.
We ordered 3 sushi rolls 1. California roll and it was good.
2. M.jackson roll – this one right here!!! It was so good! It had the coconut roasted flakes on it and the presentation and flavor was ALL THERE! This roll stole the show.
3. Johnyou- had a thick piece of stake on top and it was so delicious too!
Definitely will be back SOON.
This place TOPS mt.fuji & even Kansai on sushi!

We eat at many sushi restaurants in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area. We have a few regulars and favorites. Jaymar just mad the favorite list. They are new so not many people in tonight. The food was outstanding. The miso soup was one of the best we have had in the area. We had several rolls and all were top line. The fish to rice ratio was just right. Fish was very fresh. We will be back.

Love this place! Sushi rolls are massive! Great spot to grab take out or dine in. It’s an added bonus that they play Japanese city pop on the radio. 🙂 (Pictured are the Super roll and Salmon Mania roll)

The sushi was pretty good. I really enjoyed the aloha roll. They definitely have room for improvement in the service department. After paying, I sat there talking to my friend for another 30+ mins with both of our glasses empty. Shocking to have poor service when we were their literal Only dine in customers the entire time we were there on a Monday night.

We wanted to use our bento boxes so ordered an excessive amount of takeout from our neighborhood sushi place. All delicious. Diablo Roll, Red Dragon Roll, yakisoba vegetables, vegetable tempura (the sweet potato & broccoli were especially good), salad, ginger sauce, & miso. Excited to eat them again tomorrow.

Enjoyed a really nice dinner in our neighborhood at this sushi (and more) restaurant. Building has a step up so a bit inaccessible for those needing wheels for mobility. One set of stairs has a 45’ degree ramp and the other has nothing.
It’s only on street parking with chunks of the nearest parking marked out of bounds with no parking signs. Still easier to park than in the Highlands!
The building was renovated some years back to house a chiropractor and since then no business has stuck around long… burgers, tamales, bagels, etc. Hoping Jaymar breaks that trend!
Service was friendly but very unhurried or attentive. Food was average/on par for what you’d expect from a Japanese/sushi focused restaurant catering to American mid western tastes.
Enjoyed a really nice miso soup. Tempura was ok, just a bit heavy on the breading. Salmon roe, tuna rolls, and eel were what you’d expect and want:) Vegetable fried rice was perfect. Nice garnished that weren’t overdone. Beloved enjoyed an average saki.
Not much attention paid to atmosphere sadly. Bad canned music. It is nice to have the sushi bar being open to the diningroom.
Overall? About what you’d expect for Germantown sushi. Was good, safe, clean. A bit of attention to create a sushi-relevant vibe would go a long way. Hot tea would be nice. Prices decent for 2025. $30 per person

Our group was in town during a convention and was looking for Japanese food and found Jaymar. The food is amazing and affordable. If you don’t need to impress clients with a swanky restaurant, and just want excellent sushi and great service, this is your place. Our group of four, ordered seven plate of sushi and an appetizer and found everything to be wonderful. Would definitely recommend again!
