Great hospitality and service. Casual and quaint environment but a bit dark. We most enjoyed the coconut based curry, chicken spring rolls and lamb samosa. The tandoori chicken was excellent as well. Some of the other entrees lacked spice/traditional Indian flavors (Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh). Not the best Indian cuisine I’ve had but worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

New Years Eve. Table of 6. Awesome food. Butter Chicken, and chicken curry. The butter toffee cake and masalah chai tea. I very rarely finish my dinner plate… but it was so good I finished it all.

Excellent, traditional Indian food. Prompt service. Owners are friendly and extremely approachable. We ordered carry out, because of our pooch and the food was hot and very tasty. Stop in this holiday season to have a beer and meet these wonderful owners.

New to the area, and I’m so grateful I decided to stop by! The Paneer Pakoda was absolutely delectable. You can truly taste the perfect blend of spices in every bite. Highly recommend supporting this wonderful restaurant!

A++ Highly recommend. Jaya and her husband (owner/ server) were quite charming. The atmosphere was great, food was on point (somehow Indian food always is), and prices were completely fair. If your thinking of going, GO! You will be glad you did. PS, only service animals allowed.

For the amount of money I paid I would have expected the portion to be a lot more than what it was. Unfortunately it was a child’s size portion. In my opinion I’m American and we like to eat and for that amount for one person a cup of rice and a chicken breast and some gravy with one piece of numb bread should go a whole lot further…. Don’t get me wrong. The food tasted good, but most likely I may not go back as I expect to get more for my money within reason.

It was a pleasure meeting you Mrs.Jaya, my friend recommended me to eat here. I came all the way from Fayetteville, and the food was amazing. It definitely tastes better than tandoori bites no offense. I will be back again, and her attitude is so sweet. Her establishment and attitude was very southern hospitality. We talked and I ate good. I got the butter chicken with garlic naan bread. It was delicious, and I never ate Indian food that quickly! Southern pines was definitely a different scenery and experience. I will definitely be back shopping again and back to Mrs.Jaya’s restaurant! Thank you for everything, I had an amazing day!

Jaya’s Indian Restaurant is a great family-owned and operated spot with consistently delicious food. If you’re new to Indian cuisine, the chicken tikka masala and butter chicken are excellent choices—rich, flavorful, and very approachable. If you like a bit more heat, the chicken vindaloo is also outstanding. Mart and his wife are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. A real gem in Southern Pines and highly recommended.
