Jay Nok represents everything we love about Thai culture—bold, authentic flavours, the joy of coming together, and the seamless blend of tradition and modernity. Our menu is a love letter to the dishes that shaped us, reimagined with a fresh, modern twist. We’re thrilled to share this passion with Vancouver and invite the city to experience Thai street food in a way that feels both familiar and entirely new.

Reviews
We ordered the green curry with oxtail, chicken wings (the original ones), the pad se ew with their 24hr braised short ribs, palace pad Thai with their GIANT tiger prawns, mango sticky rice, and their AMAAAAZING pandan cheesecake!!! The pandan cheesecake isn’t on the menu, but you can always order a slice from your server!
The flavours, taste, textures, everything is SO tasty. Every time I’ve brought different friends here, they always comment about how good the dishes smell as they’re being put on the table. I have been back approximately 10 times since my first visit, probably gained several pounds along the way, and I have no regrets.
The staff are always attentive and friendly, the food is always consistently tasty, the restaurant is also beautiful, and sometimes has a DJ mixing live! They have a new happy hour and dinner menu, two new wing flavours (you HAVE to try the tamarind wings if you like tamarind), and also a Thai hot pot that you can reserve for (give them a day to prepare it!) – you seriously can’t go wrong.
You have to try the Grilled Pork Neck Salad (Nam Tok style) and the Steak Pad Kra Pao both were absolutely amazing and packed with bold Thai flavors!
The vibe is cozy and friendly and the service makes you feel welcome right away!
Ambiance is easily a 10/10- great decor and very vibey. Owner is also super nice and fun to chat with. Will definitely be back to try some more.
Servers were kind and attentive as well, felt taken care of for sure.
Fries were really tasty with fresh herbs, spring rolls were average, nothing unique or special from anywhere else.
Papaya salad was nice and spicy as we had ordered.
Tom Kha with tofu lacked vegetables or any kind of texture other than soft mushrooms and tofu.
Jay Nok garden stir fry was overly sweet and I couldn’t taste anything else.
Fried bananas with ice cream – bananas were completely mushy, the batter was soggy and wet, making the whole dish taste like baby food.
Service inconsistent, started out great then they kept forgetting about us, took over half an hour to get the bill.
The restaurant is dark and the lighting is low so if you want a bright place, this is not for you.
Our server is very helpful in offering suggestions.
The dishes came out fast but for a table of five, every dish has an extra serving dish under and it takes up lots of room so eating our meal family style is crowded, and not comfortable.
We tried the Pomelo salad, curry, 3 flavoured fish dish, oxtail stew, pork jowl pad thai, and fried bananas for dessert.
The washroom area has some neon wings perfect for IG moments. For a weeknight, the noise is quite loud even though the restaurant is only half full.
Drinks: Thai-Tanic was refreshing with a kick of spice.
Service: our server was nice but nonchalant. Took him about 10 mins to serve us water and then forgot about us. We had to wave down a gentleman (who appeared to be one of the owners) to place a drink order. After a while we had to wave down our server to place our food order.
Atmosphere: low light, warm, DJ playing R&B and hip hop. Great vibe.
You don’t normally find modern thai food in Vancouver, so I was delighted to try.
Each dish is served with a creative innovative twist on your classic thai staple items, meticulously crafted and elegantly plated.
The Brussels sprouts were fun delivering flavour, texture and depth. I liked the delicate touch of pine nuts to bring out some aromatics and earthy flavours, the sauce helped balanced the dish. Definitely unique which definitely makes it stand out on its own compared to other restaurants that serve Brussels on their menu.
pad thai is obviously their signature dish carried on from their original restaurant. I was astonished how jumbo the prawn was, beautiful fried and glazed. The bed of noodles delicately wrapped in a thin crepe like omelet wrap. A beautiful creation, The warm noodles inside absorb some of the egg’s fragrance, while the crepe locks in moisture keeping the Pad Thai saucy and rich rather than drying out. Egg is folded neatly into a parcel or draped over the noodles gives a polished look. each bite perfectly balanced between soft, savory egg and the tangy-sweet noodles inside.
The Pad Gra Prao was outstanding. The medium rare skirt steak was juicy and flavorful, pairing beautifully with the fragrant Thai basil, onions, and peppers. The jalapeño and chilies gave it just the right kick without overpowering the dish. Every bite had that bold, savory-sweet heat that makes Thai comfort food so addictive. Served with fluffy jasmine rice, perfection.
Both deserts were a delight, there’s nothing more I can say, I’ve enjoyed every dish, it was exceptional. They definitely stand out as modern thai.
The service was just as impressive, attentive without being intrusive, with staff who checked in at the right moments and made great recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the experience.
Definitely coming back until I try every item on the menu
The food was good overall. Our favorite was the drunken noodles, the flavor and the beef were both excellent. The papaya salad was also very good.
I was a bit let down by the chicken wings. I’d read in a few reviews that they were a must try, and while they were good, they didn’t quite blow me away. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the green curry… it lacked flavor and the chicken was a little dry for our taste.
The Thai milk tea was very good, but if you’re not into sweet drinks, make sure to ask for half sweet.
We’ll definitely come back to try the dinner menu.
The staff was friendly and very welcoming. They topped off our waters fairly quickly and we didn’t even feel like we waited long for food as we were so occupied by all the things the kids could do!
Now let’s get to the food.. The food was amazing! We ordered the pork jowls, spring rolls, wings (a must), pineapple fried rice and the pad sew. The pork jowl was delicious and refreshing with the sauce and veggies. The chicken wings…. Super delicious, not greasy and the flavour in every bite was making me yearn for more! The spring rolls were devoured by our kids!
The pineapple fried rice was rich in flavour! My favorite was the pad sew! The short ribs that come with it was sooooo delicious! The Thai tea drink and the Thai tea cheesecake made me forget my name! The zerts were so fulfilling in flavour and texture! Again, my kids devoured the cheesecake, and they’re not a big fan of regular cheesecake. So I was a bit surprised!
My wife, kids and I will definitely come back again! We all enjoyed the hospitality, mixed with the amazing vibe and delicious food!!!
Definitely worth every dime we paid!
