If you’re looking for an old-school steak & lobster restaurant where the food is great, the drinks are magnificent, and the service is impeccable, then this is it. It was like going back in time to when restaurants were used to close deals, family celebrating special occasions, or if you have a special someone that you would like to enjoy a great meal. It is definitely on my radar when I come back to visit.

Overpriced but serviceable. Patio was beautiful, waitress was charismatic and nice, food was competent but nothing special. I had the petite mignon, and it was good but a $53 steak really should bring something more. Mashed potatoes were delicious, oysters on the half shell were oddly dry(?!) were only served with cocktail sauce, lemon and Tabasco (no mignonette) and were $24 for six. green beans were a bit over done and under seasoned. Cocktails were good.

We have lived nearby Jack’s for over 20 years and I drive by it daily. We finally went for the first time today for happy hour on their amazing patio. It was a really great experience. Service was excellent, food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Happy hour prices were very affordable. We will make this a regular spot to grab a quick bite and a drink on a Friday night. I’ll also note that we were reluctant to bring our young son here, but he loved it, and there were a bunch of young kids there and even some babies. My son loved the lobster tank and the trout in the stream running through the patio.

We made reservations about a month in advance to spend Valentines Day at Jax. Started with an old fashioned with bacon in it, which was sweet and interesting, and a baked goat cheese with tomatoes and crostini. The cheese was crumbly instead of soft and creamy as I expected, but was a great combination of flavors. I started with a “house” salad, which is a caesar – and probably one of the best Ceasars I’ve had in recent memory (generous dressing without it being wet, and buttery croutons with just the right amount of parmesan). BF devoured his clam chowder too, with only good things to say.

We really enjoyed brunch at Jax! Our table of 4 shared the beignets, and we really liked the amaretto French toast and breakfast pot pie. We had the bottomless mimosas, and they are very generous with refills!

Went here for the first time on a Friday night after hearing good things from many people. The host was very friendly but it was downhill after that. Our server was not very friendly and seemed like she wasn’t happy to be there. I ordered the sizzling bacon and ribs while my date ordered the berry and goat cheese salad. The sizzling bacon was good and I would recommend that. You get 4 pieces of bacon and a sweet dipping sauce. The ribs were overcooked and not hot. I tried to cut the ribs into individual pieces but they just fell apart. In my opinion they should still stick to the bone when you cut them but be tender too. My date said her salad was good but nothing special. Overall with the food being just good and the service below average I would not come back especially with the prices. Total bill with tip was $88 (full rack of ribs).
