Tried this place out for the first time recently. Ordered a couple of Al Pastor tacos and a Carne Asada burrito to go. Took a seat off to the side while I waited for my order to be cooked. The interior of Javi’s, although compact, is very clean and tidy. They have a quaint dining area with several places to sit and eat. After a short wait, I received my food and headed home.

The burrito was great. They used good quality, well-trimmed, and seasoned grilled steak with no gristle or chewy bits. It was also loaded to the gills with cheese, beans, lettuce, sour cream, and tomato. It was a hot, delicious, greasy mess that left me all sweaty and desiring a nap afterward. It was a very drippy and somewhat sloppy burrito, so you should have plenty of napkins and wet wipes on hand. It’s probably not an ideal car ride snack or meal.

The Al Pastor tacos were also fantastic. Savory and succulent well-marinated, then grilled pork with fresh and aromatic white onions and cilantro cradled within perfectly dense yet pillowy corn tortillas. Very good tacos. And their salsas were excellent. The red, in particular, packs a very subtle, smokey, and spicy punch.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my first experience. The portions were filling and delicious, the prices seemed fair, and their service is quick and efficient. I’ll definitely be returning to try out their other menu items. Come on over and check them out. Cheers, Javi’s Burritos!

Great little place with authentic Mexican food. We usually get tacos, which we love because there’s many meat, fish, or vegetarian options, as well as Mexican or American style. But there’s many meal options available from burritos to tamales to fajitas. We’ve been going here for a couple years and everything has always left us happy and full. If you feel like something sweet, they offer homemade paletas, as well as churros and flan. Many drink options available and tasty horchata. Super friendly and helpful cashier ties it all together for a great experience!

We love this place! I recently ordered the Arroz con Camarones and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We’ve been ordering from here regularly and have tried a variety of dishes—burritos, tacos, salads, desserts—and everything has been consistently fresh, warm, and so tasty. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, flavorful Mexican food!

Came in 15 minutes before close and they served me with a smile. “We got you”. Food was well seasoned. Carne Asada had amazing texture: a crispy char on the edge of each piece yet still juicy and tender. One of the best Carne Asada I’ve had in a while.

This has become one of my favorite local lunch spots!! You can tell by the sight and smell alone that the chef cares about their art and boy it is TASTY!! Fast, yet intentional. Very reasonably priced! Highly recommend the fish tacos and ask about the dairy free paletas!

Your version of a California Burrito is incorrect. A cali burrito has fries and not rice. It should be full of steak, cheese, fries and if you want guacamole and pico, sometimes hot Cheetos. That’s how they do it in San Diego.

We’ve been really trying to like this place. Hoping that they would fill a niche south of the tracks in Wheaton. (North of the tracks you’ve got Mi Casa and Burrito Parilla and those both have very good food and service)

First time, I had a selection of tacos (I had to order Ala Carte because you can’t mix and match with the three taco plate, grrr) they were ok, a little under stuffed but the steak and the Al Pastor were serviceable. Like every other taco place that I have ever been, they asked me if I wanted cilantro & onion, or with tomato, lettuce and cheese.. it’s cilantro and onion for me everytime.

We’ve been back for enchiladas and burrito’s and they were both pretty good.

Today we had a taste for taco’s and thought we’d give them another try. I ordered 2 Al Pastor and 2 Steak Tacos, my wife ordered the Pastor Taco Plate. As we were waiting for our food, it dawned on me that we weren’t asked how we wanted the tacos. So I ran up to the counter and asked the young man that took our order what kind of tacos we were getting.. he said tomato cheese and lettuce.. Ugh! I asked if he could change it, he said no. Then they came out, I asked if he could fix this, he said no but I was free to order more. I said, “You should have asked me what kind of tacos I wanted” he said, “you should have read it”.

Mea culpa, he’s right. I should have read it, buyer beware and all that. I was in a hurry because there were people behind us. Anyway, we’re done trying.. there are two places with better food and service on the same street.

What really bothers me is that I succumbed to that leave a tip as part of the checkout process standing at the counter. In the best of times standing there taking my order and my money is not a tipping situation. In this case… he was not helpful, he was rude and he was pre-tipped.

I learned all kinds of lessons today.

I did not love my visit. The rice and beans were not too flavorful and the service wasn’t the friendliest. There was no bathroom for customer use. But one plus is that the restaurant was very clean.

Javi’s is my personal favorite for takeout.
The tacos are so good they should have a line of customers waiting out the door!

I have Celiac- they were so kind & accommodating for my gluten allergy. They cleaned the grill for me, and used corn tortillas for the tacos. (Rice and beans were also safe) TACOS WERE AMAZING!!! I moved back from Texas a year ago and finally got to have some good tacos. 10/10 would reccomened
