This is a wonderful place to receive excellent non rushed, attentive service and some of the best Most economical options if you enjoy Mexican cuisine.
Your dining experience begins with freshly baked tortilla chips, salsa and smiles from the staff. If you visit during the lunch hour that is your best value and you can choose a main entree which is accompanied with refried beans and rice for an extremely reasonable price.
The summer is definitely my favorite season to visit because then I can sit outside with my dog. Inside seating is wonderful too and the restaurant gives a very cozy and casual atmosphere.
I’ve had tacos tamales, taco salads, ceviche, hamburgers smoothies and even tried their fried ice cream.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money here to have a wonderful meal with friendly staff members.

food was awful. no seasoning, “queso” is BEER cheese. server hides on his phone in the next room and never came to check on us. chips are burnt. margarita tastes like chemicals. do not come here.

Been coming here for years. Its amazing. The prices in particular are excellent in this economy. Drinks are so reasonable, its hard not to indulge. The food is fresh and consistent and the staff have been here for a good while. Friendly faces every visit. Honestly, when you have to be so specific about eating out- Javiers provides a safe port, every time.

Javier’s is truly one of the gems of Arlington Heights! My family and loved ones all go here regularly because everything—from the service to the margaritas—is consistently above and beyond. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff takes such great care of us, and the food is good.
One of the things I really appreciate is that they bring out two kinds of salsa, since I can’t handle spicy. It’s such a thoughtful touch and shows how attentive they are to their guests.

A steak chimichanga chicken taco & beef enchilada My daughter got the chicken fajitas dinner and my friend got the steak and shrimp. I got the mango margarita frozen. It was fantastic, made perfectly and smooth. They make guacamole tableside on the spot fresh and customizable for if you like. The staff is extremely friendly helpful and attentive.

The food was okay. We had a big group in there and one person ordered the tableside guacamole. They make it fresh. You don’t get a whole lot though. So I asked for the tableside guacamole as well and their response was “you already had it”. I didn’t understand that! They use too much salt in their food, too! Food is too Americanized! Expected more of an authentic style of food!

Food bland. Salsa watery, Margaritas weak. Nice place, but needs big improvement in food. This does not even qualify as TexMex. The ground beef is totally without taste, chicken soup is in need of something, maybe add Maggi. Sorry, Javier’s won’t be a place I frequent. When it was La Chiquanita it was great, now, not even close.

Food was very good ! Will definitely be coming back. Staff is very welcoming and nice . Great indoor and outdoor seating. Loved the chicken enchiladas. I would say thus place has the best enchiladas. Salsa was good, could have been a little better.

I came here with my wife here Sunday. Service was great but the food was terrible!! I had enchiladas and my wife had steak tacos. The enchiladas and steak tacos were bland no flavor. The Mexican rice was bland as well. Sauce on the enchiladas looked like it came out of a can!!!! I was very disappointed in this place. The service was the best part of the experience!!!
