Some co-workers and I came for lunch based on word of mouth. We sat at the bar. First of all, the atmosphere is lovely. It was clearly intentionally and thoughtfully designed down to the small details. It’s bright, airy, cheerful, and smells great, with plenty of real plants and fresh floral arrangements. The music really complements the vibe as well. Seating was comfortable and space was ample.

Food was pretty good. Lobster enchilada and shrimp quesadilla was excellent. I thought the guacamole was good, but it was a bit spicy for some. Queso fundido wasn’t my favorite. It was a bit too thick, although we did order it without the chorizo, so it could have been our alterations that affected texture.

Service was fantastic. Christina the bartender was a real gem. She was friendly, personable, very knowledgeable, and attentive. She really made the experience.

A new Mexican restaurant that opened in December. I am honestly not sure what the hype is about. The place was completely packed on a Saturday evening, and many people were very dressed up for the restaurant. The decor is attractive, but the music was extremely loud, giving the space a strong club-like vibe.

Our reservation was for 9:30 pm for a party of five. We arrived at 9:15 pm but were not seated until 10:45 pm, at which point we were told that the kitchen closed at 11 and that we needed to place our order immediately.

The server was friendly and very nice to us, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food did not match the service. The prices are high, yet the quality is very mediocre. Nothing tasted outright bad, but at these prices I expected something special. A $40 small plate of chicken mole was unremarkable, and the $55 pork chop was overcooked and extremely dry.

For this price point, Damian in downtown LA offers Mexican food that is an order of magnitude better in quality than this place. Overall, I would not recommend returning unless you specifically enjoy a loud, clubbing-style environment.

If you’re making a late evening reservation, keep in mind that you may wait anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes to be seated. Our reservation was at 10:00 p.m., and we didn’t receive the “table ready” text until 10:30. That said, we were able to get seats at the bar, which allowed us to avoid the wait entirely.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently excellent, the service was amazing, and the drinks are always a hit. Highly recommended. If possible, I suggest opting for an earlier dinner to avoid the typical evening wait times.

Food was mediocre, overall experience was good. The ambience is amazing. We all know that, that’s why you’re here. The comfort of the seats, beautiful plants, and electric atmosphere are incredible. The food quality does not match the excellent service and interior design, however. Honestly, take some pride in your work. It was really frustrating for me. Grocery store chips and tortillas. Extremely salty and dry beans. Super sour chile verde. Not a fan of the food. The steak was good but nothing special. Enchiladas were very underwhelming too. Portions are ok size at least. I’d avoid enchiladas and tacos though if you’re hungry. I don’t want to be a hater or anything im so glad this beautiful restaurant is in pasadena. They better improve their quality if they ever want me to come back though. Also, I just need to say 38 dollars for 2 small tacos with bad tortillas? Cmon thats just ridiculous.

The new Javier’s in Pasadena exceeded every expectation. We celebrated my birthday with a party of 15, and from start to finish the experience was absolutely exceptional. They accommodated our large group beautifully with a private room that felt intimate, elevated, and perfect for celebrating.

The service was outstanding attentive, warm, and seamless without ever feeling rushed. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor, and the cocktails were just as memorable. The vibe was vibrant yet refined, making the entire afternoon feel special.

I’m incredibly grateful to the entire team for making my birthday feel so well taken care of. Truly a top-tier experience we can’t wait to come back.

Their Pescado Enpanado and Chicken Mole were delicious. Cocktail drinks were not water down. Ended our dinner with their guava cheesecake… it was perfect.
It gets really busy after 6pm so making reservations are highly suggested.

Review:
The green enchiladas suizas were disappointing—overly lemony and far from authentic. It tasted like they may have used canned green tomatoes and tried to mask it with lemon. The mole enchilada is definitely a better choice.

The birria was good, but at $40, it feels overpriced.

Steak Tapequiña:
My steak Tapequiña tasted good, but the cook needs to learn proper temps—I ordered medium and got medium-well. Paying $60 for one enchilada, a small taquito, and a tiny scoop of refried beans (barely bigger than a tablespoon) just isn’t worth it.

On the positive side, the agua chile was amazing—highly recommend. For value, stick with the Tabla for 2, which is a much better deal overall.

What an incredible dining experience! To be honest I was a little skeptical to come on opening week. Typically my experience of going to restaurants on opening week is that they’re just not prepared. Boy was I happily wrong here. We had Victoria and Kim as our servers tonight. Party of 8 can be mildly challenging, but they were awesome! Drinks are as great as the other Javier’s we’ve been to. Food was absolutely delicious as usual. My mole enchiladas were

Not what we expected! Compared to the Las Vegas Javier’s this one needs better food and service. Husband order medium rare steak and it was burned. Order vegetables had no flavor. Service was slow and inattentive, ask for refill on water and server was sarcastic. Will not be coming to this Location.
