I came on a Saturday at 4:45pm and the place was packed. Good chai though. Definitely has the hipster feel.

Most of the employees are great. The man who serves the sandwiches is very pleasant and personable. He’s probably got the best customer connections ive ever seen. Give him a raise he keeps the cafe so tidy.

Super disappointed they don’t make their chai like they used to! It used to be the best chai I’ve ever had when they did it made to order but they switched to a premade version and it pales in comparison unfortunately. Great coffee shop but that’s disappointing as it was the main reason I went!

Very nice spacious cafe with lots of interesting art deco, close to music school so interesting for people watching as well. The cappuccino I had was meh, but my husband said his espresso was good. We had a strawberry lemon tart that was tasty. Oatmeal raisin cookie was solid, ginger molasses was fine (my husband enjoyed it, I’m not a fan), the chocolate chip was a letdown. Still an enjoyable experience though.

The tea and desserts are always great. I just want to thank the staff for helping me this eve. A person in the street told me they were cold and hungry. I have seen this guy around for many years and will usually give him food. So I gave him my rice krispy treat. He then told me he was cold and wanted a coffee. So I told him I would get him one. Went back to Javas and told them that I gave away my rice krispy treat to someone who told me he was hungry and that I needed a coffee for this person outside. They wouldn’t let me get it because this person is banned from javas and always scams people. They replaced my rice krispy treat that I gave away for free. So Thank you to the staff for looking out for me. Im sorry if this review doesn’t belong here but I appreciate the staff and wanted to say Thank you.

Echoing another review from a few weeks ago, where we got abruptly kicked out at 10pm when their hours were still listed as a 11pm close. They played increasingly annoying music before doing so, including What Does the Fox Say, and then yelled at us all to get out. Heard they’re new baristas, idc, haven’t been back since, put such a miserable taste in my mouth. Another friend had the same experience. Bad look for a Roc fixture.

Really good cuppa. Double shot latte done right. Lives up to all the hype. Decor is outrageous. Love Ra-cha-cha

I absolutely love Java’s! It’s by far the best coffee shop in town. Ample seating, wifi, outlets, and fun music that isn’t too loud. I appreciate that they have an unsweetened version of their matcha. Also, shout out to Mike, my favorite barista!

Probably my favorite coffee shop in Rochester. Recommend their Aztec mocha and hot chocolate. The snacks are great, too. Great vibe and atmosphere. Great neighborhood.
