It’s the flavors roasted INTO the beans for me! It’s also the fact that the coffee is french press (tastes better imo). You’ll find favorite flavor profiles as well as lesser seen offerings you wish you’d had access to before–Derby Pie, anyone? They have lactose free options. Not sure if there are gluten-free baked goods as I forgot to look.
For those of you looking for somewhere to sit down and get some work/homework done, Java on Joe is has the space. I forgot to check for outlet availability but the seating is generous so come with your battery charged. There’s also a plethora of giftable items if you’re needing something for yourself or a thank you for a friend.
The owner is lovely as are the staff. She explained that the majority of their ingredients are Kentucky-sourced. Great coffee, good company, supporting local economies, a pleasant place to land… there, you have zero excuses to explain why you haven’t been already!

Incredible people. The women here are the absolute sweetest souls on the planet. They were so kind when explaining the menu, and explained it in depth once we entered the place since it was our first time! I went with my mom, and she ordered a coffee. I ordered their Lotus energy drinks and an acaì bowl. When they made it they were so patient and they gave me a bunch of freebies with my bowl! The drinks were incredible and the bowl was delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough! The store is also incredibly clean and absolutely gorgeous. The coffee is made with real beans and tastes like actual coffee, according to my mom. Awesome pricing for such high quality, as well!

This place is great. We have been here multiple times. They do individual French press coffee. It takes a minute to make the coffee fresh! The coffee is amazing and it doesn’t have all the sugar used in a normal coffee. I would give this place a try, it’s our new favorite coffee shop! Limited local food in the mornings….so get there early!

Such a cool place! She was so sweet and kind and the store is such an interesting concept. Everything is local to Kentucky and everything is allergy friendly. The prices are more than reasonable, as well!Wish I lived closer to come here more often.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The staff are always so sweet & kind, the owner is one of the sweetest and most kind-hearted people I’ve ever met, and the coffee is out of this world!! Their love and support for other small businesses in the community shines brighter than any other place I’ve been. I stopped in today from an early morning start of my work day. The young gentleman that was serving went above and beyond. (I believe he said he was from the Midwest, where he attends a Christian College, here on a job internship??
We had fun with my order as I allowed him to recommend something. My first Lotus Tea!! It was amazing and I’ll definitely be back.
I gave it a 3 on food for there was hardly anything to choose from.

I hate to give this place a negative review as it has been our favorite coffee shop in the area for the past year. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership, the quality and consistency has significantly gone downhill. Prior to the change, the coffee was always made perfect and the exact same every visit. For example, there was always almost exactly an inch of cold foam on every coffee. Now, the amount is always different and usually only a very minimal amount. Today’s visit was the final straw, as you could literally barely even see the “cold foam” at all. It didn’t even cover the top of the coffee. I understand that a learning period is to be expected with a change of ownership, but this has been a continuous problem every visit now and considering the cold foam is an extra charge, this aspect should always be consistent and of the same quality as the previous ownership. I really want to be able to give Java on Joe 5 stars again and hope this constructive criticism will be taken into account and used to restore the shop back to its upmost potential.

Seriously….I just moved to Vine Grove area and was trying to convince my military kiddos that we could find a coffee shop like the one I had in VA. I think we found it one better than I have tasted before. I can’t even explain into words how good my drink and my kid’s drinks are. If I could put a picture of a person falling over with glee, I would. It’s just so good! I will be back and be back often.

This coffee shop is SOOO PERFECT. The atmosphere is friendly and warm, and the shop is super clean and welcoming. They have so many options and flavors. Their process makes the difference! I ordered the largest ice coffee, and it, by far, has been the best ice coffee that I’ve ever had. And I am picky with my ice coffee. They earned a forever customer. The quality is 100%. The authenticity is 100%. The taste is 100%. Support your local businesses! I am so excited and grateful for this business.
