Stopped in Java Joe’s, with a friend, for a quick pick me up after skipping breakfast. The bagels are pretty large, dense textured, chewy & very tasty. I had a Cinnamon Raisin bagel which looked a bit on the well done side, but, was actually perfect! Java Joe’s must be pretty busy, since they were totally out of plain bagels, which are my husbands favorite. But, I bought him pumpernickel bagels instead & he was surprised, but happy! Plenty of tables to relax, and enjoy your bagels & coffee, and friendly staff too. If you’re on the run, grab them to go, like I did. So, if you’re in the area, why not stop in at Java Joe’s Bagels. Try them, bet you’ll like them too!

Bagels were fine. Tasty everything bagel with a good balance of toppings. Outer crust and texture is not standard. If you are looking for a shiny or crisp crust this is different, but I found it pleasant. Clean building. Service was prompt and fast. Coffee was fine. Parking lot is a pain. I did not personally experience anything negative but am noting that there is a significant amount of people who did.

Bagels tasted like the packaged processed shoprite brand. Older gentleman behind cash register had an attitude. Wont be back. Alpha and Brooklyn bagels are not far away.

The food was not good, and I’m not picky at all. this this is my first time ever leaving a bad review. the place was clean and fast service, however the onion bagels pieces were so badly burnt I was not able to eat it. the ham egg and cheese sandwich looked depressing, the ham looked like Walmart slice ham. and the hash browns literally are the ones you buy at the store, the little squares that sell for $2 a box at a supermarket. I thought I was going to get real hash browns. and on top of it it wasn’t cheap either. Customers service is lacking too. not coming back. but the place can improve with more quality ingredients, particularly with the competition next door. I decided to eat here because I assumed it was more homemade style, but no.

Such a good experience! Kind staff, clean restaurant. Our breakfast sandwiches were sooooo good & huge! There are also prepared baked goods available. Many drink options, but also conveniently connected to a coffee shop that gives even more options. We will be back when we visit town again. Free parking lot.

It’s wild that I haven’t left a review here bc I have probably been here close to 50 times – and I live more than an hour away.
Simply put: the best bagel spot in North Jersey. I’ve had many phases of orders but my go-to right now is the Taylor ham, egg and cheese with a hash brown on a French toast bagel. Great food, better people- I wish I could have it every day!

I don’t think I’ll be back here. I came in as a new customer with my mother since we are new to the area and wanted to check it out. I am a vegetarian, so I realized there weren’t many options which it’s okay; it happens. I was speaking to the girl taking my order, and I kindly asked if there was a sandwich that they could make vegetarian. They looked lost as if they had never had a vegetarian come in. Okay, that’s fine. They gave me an option. I wasn’t feeling it, so I just went with the egg salad sandwich, which is also okay. The girl asked me what type of bread, and I asked her the options again, and I apologized because I said, “we are new here. I’m not sure of the options. can you repeat them again?” The older man with white hair (i assumed he was the manager or owner) interrupted and said in an annoyed disrespectful voice, “we are just like any other bagel store here,” and another very petty angry comment. It wasn’t even the comment that was rude. His look towards me was just straight-up hateful and angry. That made me really uncomfortable. I don’t know. I quickly assumed maybe they were racist because we are hispanic? My mom was uncomfortable too. She also felt that he was racist. They all looked at us weird because I was translating to my mother the options in English. I don’t know, we felt completely out of place.
As far as the food goes,… not very good. The toast was burnt on both sides. They hid the side that was burned the most to cover the sandwich. Pretty sneaky. My mom’s sandwich was very salty. The sandwiches come with a giant bagel chip which seemed weird to me. The coffee was good, though. That is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. We wished we would have gone tried Beanbury or go back to Roxbury bagel or hell, go to Dunkin Donuts they have really friendly staff.
Unfortunately this is the downside of trying out a new place. We are going to stick with Roxbury Bagel next time. Great food there and VERY nice people.

I frequent this location weekly. They are the only people who can actually use a slicer. Every cut of their meats and cheeses is always perfect. Not to mention they have delicious chili and as well as Chicken cashew salad. Highly recommend

I agree with you all about the owner. He is very rude and disrespectful. I parked in the u turn spot getting ready to move, and he come out yelling at me. He is a nut case. Then after I left his place he chased me when I was outside still yelling at me. I really do think that man needs help with his anger problem. I will never be going back there. And for people who think it’s about him being racist it’s not. He does this to every race.
