First and foremost – the bourbon chicken is SO GOOD. I used to get this all the time in Florida and haven’t found a place in PA that makes it the same way. This blows every other bourbon chicken I’ve had out of the water. See pics!! The egg fried rice is delicious and eggy. The combo meals are an insane deal since it’s a TON of chicken, rice, plus a soup of your choice, AND an egg roll or 2 spring rolls.
My husband’s go-to is shrimp lo mein, and this is his favorite he’s had. It is delicious and has crunchy bean sprouts in it. The lo mein sauce is so good, and the shrimp are fresh. The sesame chicken is another of our favorites, so we got that to try too. It smacks!! The egg drop soup was to die for. The crab rangoons were huge, and the sweet and sour sauce was great.
We didn’t wait long despite not calling ahead. The food is made fresh and with love, so give them grace with cook times. Be kind, be patient, and enjoy your amazing food from here.
Update: Going to keep track of all the additional menu items we’ve tried here.
-Staples: Egg Drop Soup, Bourbon Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Wonton Soup, Sesame Chicken.
-Black Pepper Chicken: Highly recommended by the community and the owner. Delicious!
-Boneless BBQ Ribs: So good! Sauce is darker than the typical bright red ribs you get elsewhere, and it has a bit more BBQ flavor, but it is so good.
-Pork Fried Rice: AMAZING.
Problem is the best food is only the best if you can get it in a reasonable time.
Tonight I put in my order at 518pm, the website said it would be ready in 45 minutes. I showed up at 605pm and then waited another 55 minutes for my food. There was someone who said they put in their online order at 430pm and did not receive it until 630pm.
That isn’t the first time I’ve ordered from here, shown up at the prescribed time and had to wait. Something is not right with the kitchen process.
One or more things needs to happen: make food estimates realistic; had I known it would take nearly 2 hours, I would have gone somewhere else.
Or, they need to shut off online orders when they get too many.
Or, they need to figure out their process to determine why it would take hours to make food. The food is good, but even after waiting nearly two hours for mine, it was not piping hot which implies to me it was sitting back there for a while.
Yes there were a lot of orders, but that doesn’t explain a 2 hour wait.
If you want good food you can come here, but be prepared to wait.
The pieces of chicken were too big, making it hard to eat. Very little rice (rice salty and bland), and everything was drowned in sauce. The egg roll dough was raw in the middle. Nothing had good flavor..
I ended up throwing it away & didn’t want to get sick. An expensive, underwhelming experience. Would not recommend.
Will definitely be back and continue to recommend to my friends!
The owner is incredible. The food is the best I’ve had in…decades(?)! We’ve had takeout twice now. The chow mein, I can’t remember when it used to be this good. The egg drop is rich & the house special soup is fantastic (served in 2 parts, broth & a bowl of solids). Crab Rangoon actually has lots of crab in it. The dining room is spotless.
Flush curb to asphalt along entire from of building with 4 handicap spots. Only downside: the wind from the highway makes the door difficult to open! The frail or chair bound would have a hard time opening. They are wonderful inside, so I’m sure someone would come over to help.
