The cozy Japanese restaurant with heaps of Japanese posters which made you felt you were in Tokyo. Ramens and steam dumplings a bit of localised that not 100% authentic that you’d it in Japan. Overall it is a good place to dine in and enjoyed the vibe.

We had the samurai pork, the prawn tempura roll, salmon hosomaki and the salmon & avocado inside out roll.
All food tasted good, but it is expensive for the quantity of food you get. The pork was in slithers, so wasn’t a substantial amount in the bowl.
The atmosphere is great to sit outside on the street and the ladies were lovely!

I really hope the chef made a mistake, because the food at this place was terrible.
We ordered the Samurai pork and the spicy veg udon noodles with fish stock. We paid and left almost everything untouched.
– Spicy veg udon noodle soup: It came as a clear, extremely salty broth with no spice at all. It only had udon noodles and bean sprouts. I couldn’t find any actual vegetables, and the flavour of the broth was disappointing.
– Samurai pork: The menu described it as having a sweet, fermented flavour, but it was just overwhelmingly salty. The presentation was poor, and the kimchi on the side was tasteless.
I was also surprised to see Japanese staff serving, but none of them asked if the food was okay, maybe because they already know.
To summarise, I had to go get dinner somewhere else, as I couldn’t eat it.

Very cool place with lots of variety on the menu. Me and my friend split a Spicy ramen noodle and it was more than enough for the two of us. We also ordered a Salmon Tempura roll which was so freaking good, I literally came back the next day to get another one before I left Byron Bay. Highly recommend. Staff was super friendly, I loved everything!

Japonaise Kitchen was our first food stop in Byron and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and also very reasonably priced. Very tasty, very fresh and very attentive to allergies. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant was very cool.
