Beautiful Modern Koreanized Japanese sushi restaurant in Aurora. Spacious and very beautiful Modern Korean interior. Pretty good quality sushi and Korean dishes such as bulgogi, Dak galbi (gochujhang stir fried chicken), jeyuk bokkeum (gochujhang sir fried pork). We tried utomaru and chirashi don from sushi special menu. Service was nice and friendly.

I’ve been to Japon Sushi multiple times now and they don’t miss! Our family’s favorite is the boat of rolls and sushi and the spicy seafood noodles; we get it every time as long as there’s enough of us there. The service is incredible- the last time we were there, the owner remembered that I had asked for a substitution for one of the rolls and suggested that my family order it again for me (I was running late and definitely appreciated this). If you’re looking for a new local sushi spot, this is it

We took a risk on the chef’s choice sushi boat for 2 since the reviews are overwhelmingly positive….but it was more like chef’s leftovers ): It was $80 & we were quoted it’d be 2 rolls, about 10 nigiri, 12 sashimi by our waiter, so it seemed like a really good deal.
The good: White Tuna nigiri (2 pc) was buttery and delicious, yellow tail sashimi (3 pc) was good, all the fish was fresh and was very large cut pieces. Sushi rice was seasoned nicely.
The bad: we have never been here before, so I tried to tell the waiter that but i don’t think he heard me. When the sushi boat arrived the waiter set it down and left with no explanation of what any of the fish or rolls were and only came back 1x time while we were eating. We eat sushi a lot, so we could figure most of it out. I was disappointed they gave us a Cali roll & shrimp nigiri. The Tuna fish (2 pc nigiri & 3 pc sashimi) had no flavor at all, had no fat on it anywhere. It was like grocery store sushi. It was a huge miss & was our least favorite fish on the boat (tuna is usually our favorite). The salmon had very little flavor, the red snapper was just ok. It’s crazy to say the roll with spicy tuna/cucumber inside and eel/avocado on the outside was the best thing on the boat, since I never order eel. Unfortunately we didn’t think it was worth $100 for 2 out the door.

Just had lunch there and it was delicious. They have special Korean dishes you should try! Agujjim was really well marinated and our Korean elders enjoyed it. Also worth trying is the spicy udon, tastes like jjambbong. Kids loved the udon and chicken fried rice.
Sushi plates are beautifully plated. All their decorations and plates, utensils, etc. are nice and thoughtfully planned out! Love it!
Wanted to try the dduk galbi but they ran out.

The Japon Sushi & Asian Cuisine at Aurora’s Cornerstar was opened about a week or two ago. The ambience was pretty good with wooden tables and chairs, Japanese paintings and paper lanterns. Besides sushi rolls, it also had many other Japanese, Korean and American Chinese staples. Came too late for the $17 lunch bento box, so ordered $27 Chiranshi Don instead. Thought the portion might be small for the price, but the portion was quite large with more than 11 ingredients, including 6 types of sashimi, 2 pieces each, shrimps, crab sticks, salmon roe, caviar and tamagoyaki, The service was prompt and welcoming.Quite a satisfying feast and surely exceeded my expectation. Will certainly go back soon to try their omakase as well as some Korean dishes.

Fact: I am a sushi snob.
Japon Sushi and Asian Cuisine was a very happy surprise. Their menu is one of a more established restaurant, not one with a ‘Now Open’ sign still hung. Their menu seems sure of itself and let me tell you, what is brought to your table goes beyond the descriptions on the menu.
The staff is warm and inviting. I feel relaxed and I get the sense they appreciate everyone who is in this restaurant tonight.
While sitting here, not only am I writing this review, but I have already told two others about this place.
The sushi rolls have perfect texture, flavor and temperature.
I wholeheartedly believe that if you’re reading this review, and you come to this restaurant, and you try the artistry they call sushi, that you will still be impressed. My words and hype don’t do this place justice.
Sincerely , a sushi snob.

Stopped in at 8pm and there was no other customers. That made me a little worried but I’m so glad I stayed. This was some of the best sushi I’ve had. The gyoza and it’s sauce was delicious and the fire dragon roll with spicy tuna and unagi was to die for. The service was excellent. I plan on coming back many many times.

Delicious? Absolutely incredible!
I will not even say anything else. Just go and try it.
I highly recommend it!
The atmosphere and service are also top-notch.
And the prices are exactly what they should be — they make you want to try the whole menu.
Perfect place!

Finally, sushi and sashimi so good and fresh that I wouldn’t mind coming here every time I’m craving them. The fish was soooo good! Silky soft, with no fishy smells and not mushy. I’ve had the nearby all-you-can-eat places and have always found the fish quality to be sub-par – more about volume eating with people who want lots of everything rather than the true sushi experience. I’ve also tried the regular sushi places in Aurora and Lone Tree, and they really don’t compare to Japon. For me, Japon will be my go-to place for Japanese cuisine. It also serves Korean foods, and I plan on trying them too. The server was very nice, then the owner came over to check on us, telling us about her 30-years of restaurant experience. Our meal definitely reflected her experience and high standards. The decor is lovely (the huge wall art with cranes is beautiful!). If you can’t or don’t want to drive to the parking-challenged Sushi Den location, here is a local Japanese restaurant worthy of your attention!

Amazing experience. Walked in and had Jinro the frog welcoming us inside. Ordered the caterpillar roll, double spicy tuna roll, firecracker roll. They were very thick rolls. 1 roll filled me up. Miso soup was delicious as well. Customer service was amazing. Very polite and eager to assist. The atmosphere has an upscale feel to it. Great for date nights. Clean and stylish. 10/10 will be back.
