When Japanese artistry meets the classic hot dog
What an incredible culinary fusion! This hot dog is masterfully crafted with Japanese finesse while staying true to the sacred essence of this American classic.
Every component is thoughtfully prepared: a delicately flavored Japanese-style mayo with complex, nuanced flavors, and an absolutely phenomenal sausage – nothing mass-produced here! It’s perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly flavorful throughout. The bun is pillowy soft and complements everything beautifully.
The owner, true to Japanese tradition, shows tremendous respect for his craft and greets customers with a genuine, warm smile.
This is a must-try experience – the perfect marriage of street food comfort and Japanese culinary refinement!
Rating: Absolutely worth the visit!

We visited this tiny spot and tried two of their most popular hot dogs — unfortunately, I can’t recall the exact names, but they were both incredibly flavorful and unique. The combination of Japanese-inspired toppings on classic hot dogs is genius. The quality and taste make it a must-visit. Highly recommend for a quick and delicious bite!

This is the best shrimp guacamole sandwich I’ve ever had in my life! Flavor is 100/10! The guacamole is so fresh and flavored, you can taste the herbs and avocado. Really really good. Honestly that’s a very good price they sell for too because it’s a lot and the flavor is really good. The little calamari/lobster bites (if i remember the name correctly) were really one of a kind. They were really delicious.

It’s nice to see something that we have back home. Always loved to order my classic kurobuta terimayo. My favourite out of all as it combines the classic hot dog with a Japanese twist. Other flavours as also good but if you ever to get one get the terimayo!
The person also who served us, thanks for the great costumer service!

I went when it was pretty empty so thankfully there wasn’t much of a wait time. You order on a tablet and wait to the side. I got their signature hotdog. It was really good and the sausage in the hotdog is actually a good size. I would go here again, but only if it’s empty. The person at the stand who makes the food doesn’t really talk, only to announce orders, so I can’t say customer service is great, but it’s amazing if you have anxiety.

Sausage has a texture that snaps and breaks apart as you sink your teeth in it. Explodes with flavours that complements each other well. Bonito flakes and Japanese mayo adds a simple and effective Japanese fusion twist on the classic hotdog.

Japadog at Santa Monica Pier is a solid find for something different. I tried the Kurobuta Terimayo Dog—flavorful pork, teriyaki, and Japanese mayo, topped with seaweed. Delicious! The Okonomi Dog was great too but needed more sauce and the cabbage was a bit lacking. Tip: the wind might snag your toppings. It’s a bit pricy, every hotdog in LA is, but for a unique take on a hotdog, it’s worth checking out.

This hot dog was delicious. I got the 1 and my husband got the 4 but with ketchup and mustard. I thought his would come with a strip of bacon but it was like salad bacon. My 1 was good just the beef hot dog alone would have been good. But as always a lot of bread.

I wasn’t hungry, but I loved my last japadog and had to make a stop a year and a half later. The hotdog was old and hard. The toppings and bun were perfect, but that can’t make up for the hotdog.
