We came to celebrate two birthdays and it was a great experience! The host was very attentive and he helped with recommendations as well as assisting with quantities so make sure we had enough to feed a party of 8 people. I liked the vibe they had with the plants, lighting and decor. Even their bathrooms were very clean. It was my first time there and I would definitely be back! Yes, it’s very expensive but definitely worth the splurge for a good occasion.

Literally one of my top three meals I’ve ever had in Portland. The lobster rolls are absolutely to die for and the steak tartare was so good we literally ate almost the whole thing with our eyes closed lol. We also had the truffle tuna, the Korean fried chicken and the miso cod. Truly a perfect meal, finished with the most delicious cheesecake in Portland! Our waiter was incredible and helped guide us through the menu since it was our first time. Will 1,000% be back and I can’t wait.

If you’re an influencer looking for an instagrammable spot in Portland to have dinner, I guess this would be it.
The whole experience of dining here felt… performative. Like it was an attempt at a nice restaurant by someone who’s never enjoyed fine dining. It was reminiscent of going out with that one friend that could pay for your entire meal 20x over without batting an eye, but instead asks you to Venmo $3.52 for the bite of food they offered you. The food was rather mediocre, heavy handed on the aioli and mayonnaise, and the vegetables were all rather oily. The quality of the proteins were good. Sparkling and still water were an additional charge. The cocktails were fine; they were smooth, but not particularly flavorful.
What is the point of having a mandatory 20% service charge on everything? Just build it into your already overpriced menu items and say you don’t accept tips. Upon entering, all 4 people at the host stand just stared at us blankly; for that kind of flat service fee, I would at least expect them to take my coat or really even just greet me warmly.
The waiter we had was good, he asked about allergies and made sure we got all our dishes in a timely fashion.
Overall, I would not come here again. There’s an abundance of great restaurants in Portland, but this was not one of them.

We enjoyed everything we ordered. The food, the atmosphere and the service were 5 stars all the way. We would definitely go back. We didn’t make reservations, but they said it is recommended on Friday and Saturday.

Been hearing all about this place and decided to come for an anniversary dinner. I was stunned by the ambience of the restaurant and just the presentation of everything. The huge tree in the middle was so cool and definitely set the vibe. Staff was super friendly and gave amazing recommendations. My favorites were definitely tuna truffle and the lobster roll, but everything was sooo good. The only thing that I had that I would not give a 10/10 to was the mushroom bait buns which were still like an 8/10. And oh my goodness the desserts were out of this world. The ube crème brûlée was quite literally the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Also shoutout the staff for giving us free cream puffs to celebrate our anniversary. Cannot wait to spend more celebratory dinners here. Favorite spot in PDX

I have been wanting to try this place for at least a year. My wife and I came for a belated birthday meal for me. We had crispy green beans (which were amazing), and seared scallops for an appetizer. Our main course was a Korean style short ribs and a wyagu fried rice both of which were filling and very satisfying. The portions for everything was very generous considering the quality of the ingredients they are working with. For dessert we have the ice cream sushi which was super fun and tasty. They also brought some unexpected birthday cream puffs. I would suggest this restaurant for anyone who wants a very unique Asian fusion food adventure.

Very pleasant experience and we’ll be back for more. Accommodating when we walked in without a reservation. They made sure to make us feel welcome and worked to fit us in even though it was very busy. We tried many dishes and all were delicious and unique in their own way. Maria was a server and she was attentive, high spirited, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Her positive and happy demeanor made the whole evening so pleasant. The entrance was understated, industrial, but hip and invited. The interior was modern, well designed for comfort and had a fun Asian fusion atmosphere with the cherry blossom tree at the center of the room. We are definitely coming back to try more of the menu.

We ordered several of their Makimono and some of their Korean items. The verdict is that the Japanese side is through the roof but the Korean items didn’t par to be delicious, the Japchae and the Yangyum didn’t meet our expectations.l especially the Japchae, its pretty salty and doesn’t have the Japchae taste that we are very familiar of which is why we gave 4 stars. In general, it was a great experience. Be aware that they automatically charge 20% service charge on every table.

Janken has been on my to go list for a while and we finally made to it yesterday. Perfect ambiance & service and the food & drinks were amazing! We ordered 8 small plates and really enjoyed everything we got. Our 2 favorites were the Maguro Foie Gras Nigiri & the Bone Marrow and from the drinks the Litchi Martini. Janken is on the pricier side but we thought it was worth it! We didn’t try any desserts but so excited to go back and try it.

I booked a reservation for a solo dining experience for my birthday and it was a 10/10 for me! My server Mo was wonderfully knowledgeable, communicative, attentive and friendly. He made many recommendations for me which simplified the whole experience. The food was truly delicious, coursed out perfectly and paired well with my cocktails. I would recommend anyone to go for a date night, solo treat or special group occasion. The female manager was very helpful and friendly as well.
