Ms. Janice is absolutely the sweetest thing ever! So is Jessica my server! I was road weary, tired, cold and hungry when I rolled into Elk City from Amarillo heading back to Nashville. Ms. Janice immediately recognized that look, sat me down and got me fresh, hot coffee.
Jessica greeted me like an old friend. I ordered a chicken fried steak and eggs, with home fries and toast. It was quite possibly the best chicken fried steak I’ve had since my granny died. We talked about life, this crazy snow storm that’s coming, her kiddo’s basketball tournament just small town life topics.
When I left I left with hugs and feeling like family. Ms. Janice said that the most important thing in her food was love and you felt it not just in the food but the restaurant as well. It’s my new stopping spot on my long drives between Nashville and Amarillo from now on. It might not look like much from the outside but inside it’s like coming home. There’s no better feeling than that

I walked in an hour before closing on a Saturday night, and the service was mediocre.
I was greeted nicely by one waitress but then the actual waitress who served me asked me if I knew what I wanted to drink, and I was confused because I didn’t have the menu. After I ordered, the mac and cheese, she brought me onion rings instead. They apologized and fixed the issue tho.
As for the food and drinks, the country fried steak and the mashed potatoes were really good. Also, the pink lemonade was good. However, the mac and cheese looked like the kraft mac and cheese you buy at target. That was the worst mac and cheese ive had in a restaurant ever.
The waitress was still nice so I still gave her 20 percent gratuity

I came here for breakfast. The staff was super friendly and quick despite being packed. The food was pretty good and I enjoyed that they had sourdough as a bread option for the breakfast sandwich.

We visited this place for breakfast and had coffee, French toast, hash browns, chicken, and scrambled eggs. It was a proper English breakfast — very delicious and comforting, just like Grandma’s cooking, made with love. Janice was very sweet, and she mentioned that she has 30 years of experience.

My daughter and I are traveling from Florida. I was so sick of travel food (sandwiches and snacks) and I just wanted some good hot food.
We just finished eating and Jessica was my waitress. I cannot tell you how wonderful she was and the cook came out to check on us as well. They were both so kind and considerate and the food was delicious! My daughter got the egg breakfast and it came with the BEST sausage gravy I’ve had in years with a very fluffy biscuit! I had the bacon wrapped sirloin dinner and it was so good and filling and the calf fries were a treat! Thank you so much! I wish I took more pictures but here’s the only two I took. We ate most of our food before I even thought about it

What a great place to eat. The southern cooking hit my soul. I have a strict diet tolerance. They added cheese and the waitress apologized. They remade it and it was excellent. Thank you so much!

We ordered the catfish and chicken fried steak. The food was ok, not amazing. This was a pick up order to take back to our hotel after a long nine hour drive. When I picked it up I specifically asked if all condiments were in the bag. I should have checked. The sour cream and butter for the potato were missing. Seems pretty insignificant but the thought of driving back there for it wasn’t happening or worth it. I called and they said they forgot. I asked if they could credit me a couple of bucks and I’ll just eat a dry potato. She said no, the sour cream and butter is complimentary. Great I said, but that’s the way I ordered it. She offered to drive it out but by that time the potato would be cold. She then told me to call the front desk of the hotel to see if they have any. This is a small thing but offering a small refund would have gone along way.

Was in Elk City for a few days with my girlfriend and we went to Janices and the food was absolutely terrific. Extremely friendly and polite. That’s what you get with southern hospitality. Will be coming back next time we’re in Elk City.

My family of 4 stopped in for lunch on our way to the museum. Janice was the only server working and had a full house. I’ve waited tables in the past, and I could not have handled a rush on my own with a fraction of the patience and grace this lady did. Nothing was overlooked, our food was perfect, and we maybe had a 10 minute wait (if that.) Once our food arrived, Janice still stopped by to check on us frequently.
One lady provided some of the best table service I’ve ever seen!
I ordered biscuits and gravy with home fries. My partner had a mushroom and Swiss with fries. My son did a plain burger with chips. My daughter had grilled cheese and cottage cheese. Everything was fresh, tasty and exceeded our expectations.
For a family of 4 our bill was a little less than $50, and honestly that’s amazing with the way prices are now. Especially for the quality of food and service.
We will definitely be eating here again!
