Wandered in while exploring Maple St. and was blessed with one of the finest meals of my life.
Food was delicious, I got a bowl of lentil soup to start (partially eaten already in the picture), complimentary bread service that was superb, and couscous au poulet as an entree. All were tasty and hearty dishes, just what I needed after a chilly autumn night’s walk 🙂
The place itself is also well furnished and has a fantastic ambiance to it, good choices of music from whoever brought the cd’s that were being played by the kitchen. Artwork and other decorations complimented the room and made the place feel very welcoming and warm 🙂
Service was amazing, the gentleman that seated me and was my waiter is a wonderful and friendly man who was very attentive. Sprinkled some magic water on my hands as I walked out to celebrate my birthday 😀
I recommend everyone in the universe try this place, a real blessing in the neighborhood <3

Lovely family owned business. The salads were super refreshing. I also had the spinach bisque and tajine lamb which were both yummy. Also love the garlic butter that came with the bread

I went here for dinner of my first night ever in New Orleans and nothing else Ihad that trip compared to the food I had here. Its a small, dimlit restaurant with a very welcoming and passionate staff that put all their love into the cooking, and the service. The Zucchini Crawfish Bisque I had was soul snatching, and without a doubt the best thing I ate in NOLA. This will be a place I go to everytime im in town.

This is textbook warmth in hospitality. Moncef and Jamila are a shining example of what it can feel like to be truly welcomed and looked after in a restaurant-exactly like home. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

The best and coziest restaurant I have been to in New Orleans. I got tiramisu and tea with mint, both incredibly delicious. Big thank you to Mr Sbaa for making all the guests feel so welcome. A must try restaurant if you are ever in the city!

A cozy, intimate environment. You feel like you’re in your family’s dining room waiting for your grandparents to finish cooking the whole family a holiday feast. The staff is so friendly, caring, and also multilingual! The food is quite possibly the best I have EVER been served, across thousands of restaurants and different cuisine types. If you want an unforgettable experience, I cannot encourage you enough to try the food here! I especially recommend the bisque!

Amazing hidden gem, so glad we decided to come here ! It’s an incredible little restaurant ran by a husband and wife for over 30 years, they are so personable and down to earth and genuinely grateful for your service!
Incredible authentic food, with so much flavor and quality!

I normally hate to leave a bad review of a small family run business, even if the experience is disappointing, but this was so bad I feel compelled to warn others. For starters, the food was really bland and lacked flavor. Small portions, especially anything with meat. The lentil soup was tasteless and couscous came with barely warm “vegetable sauce” which contained 4 tiny pieces of vegetable. Basically mostly a tomato sauce. Nothing like the pictures others posted. We are familiar with this cuisine and have enjoyed excellent preparation at many other places. Adding insult the owner pretends to be a sweet old man until the check comes and all the prices are several dollars higher than listed on the menu. When politely questioned about the discrepancy, he shifts to very angry and defensive. Be aware that the prices listed on the menu are artificially low and apparently they reserve the right to charge whatever they want when the check comes. Never again!!!

This place is lovely. My daughter and I have been coming here for years. The food is always good, and the owner is so sweet. Don’t miss the delicious vegetarian lentil soup and the couscous – with fish or vegetarian! The mint tea is a special treat.

One of our most enjoyable restaurants this year. The owners made the experience unforgettable. Hidden jewel, would have added a pic of the entry but got lost in the moment devoured it!
