Wanted some bison on our Montana trip. Husband had the bison burger with grilled green chile, I had bison skewers. Both were great! We had fast service and enjoyed everything. Best meal of our trip.

The truffle fries are likely the best in the world! The large size can keep 4 people munching a long time. Menu selection is a bit limited, but have enjoyed everything we have tried. Margaritas at most places are too sweet, but highly recommend theirs. There is outdoor seating in the back. Cost for everything is reasonable, too.
Update, March 2026: True to the management’s response to my review, they had an expanded menu in the works. And four of us each had different dinners today from that menu, and they were all excellent!

It might just be because of the time we came in, but the service was slow and they never even put in our appetizer. The food thay did come out was flavorful but the soup was barely warm and the Sliders a bit stiff. Single occupancy bathrooms which are nice except when you have to wait because somebody from the neighboring bar is in there

Lets start with we got their 20 minutes before the kitchen closed and they still served us. We had clam slider, lamb slider and steak with mac and cheese. Loved it all.

This spot is the perfect place for a date or just a night out. You walk in and it almost feels quiet… then you reach the heart of the bar and it opens to a massive bar and a lot of people. The bar was a perfect spot to sit with TVs and all the mixologist action happening right in front of us.
Their drinks are extravagant, with interesting twists and ingredients. I loved the Sazerac! We enjoyed chatting with the bar tenders about local places and about their drinks.
We loved the idea of their burgers and decided to try the sliders, I got a lamb, Buffalo, and one with a quail egg and the quail egg and buffalo were great, but the lamb was a bit overcooked.
I highly recommend this place if you are in Missoula.

Had another awesome dinner. Brought my partner who is from Denver, in. Swore to him the vibe was good and the food was great. The waiter tonight was awesome. I didn’t catch his name but he was wearing a red shirt and was so kind and helpful. Exactly the kind of service that made me want to bring my partner. Will absolutely return. Food was good too 🙂

Food taste good, but it was disappointing that the service wasn’t that great. It wasn’t super busy and it we felt like we weren’t very welcome in this place. (We weren’t wearing anything different from anyone else) it took a while to get our orders in and even greeted. Food was good if a bit college town overpriced. Drinks were good.

Came in for some dinner before hitting up the bars down town. Lots of options. Ribeye was cooked and seasoned well. Fries are delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Shepherds pie was also good. Cute space. Looks like they were setting up some live music before we left around 9.

The exterior/entrance view is quite misleading as the bar quickly opens up and provides ample seating in a very clean/modern setting. Food is fantastic and quickly prepared and the cocktails are expertly made and just far enough outside of the norm to be interesting and refreshing without being risky or entirely unfamiliar. Wait staff is courteous and friendly and happy to provide service even if you aren’t purchasing a tables worth of food.
I cannot recommend the James Mule enough, even as someone who doesn’t much care for anise the pairing with the ginger beer really does bring something entirely new to the table.

If you haven’t tried James Bar yet you must! The vibes in this restaurant are immaculate, the food is super good as well. Just all around a great place to take anyone for dinner or lunch. They also have an outdoor area which is perfect when the weather is good. Also the music in this place is a 10/10.
