First and last visit! I ordered Jerk Chicken, Red Beans and Rice with Oxtail gravy and Cabbage. Everything was barely warm and not as hot as it should have been, the chicken was old and dry with hard parts like it’s been around for a few days, definitely won’t be going back, first impression is everything and they just blew it with me.

This restaurant just opened and needless to say there’s room for improvement. Timing was a little off – they said order ready in 15 mins and it was closer to 50 mins. No problem, I’m patient.
Curry chicken was very tender but as far as curry goes, it lacked flavor. Tasted like wet chicken and very under seasoned. Rice was terribly dry, as if it sat in a rice cooker for a while and overcooked.
The Mac and cheese tasted like it was made 3 days ago and just reheated to order. Not fresh. Steamed cabbage was good just needed more seasoning. Jerk wings were also tender but spice blend needs to be adjusted it was very light.
I’m sure with time and some adjustments this establishment can improve!

The Best
The jerk chicken is fire. I’m from brooklyn so I know real authentic Caribbean food and this is the best you’ll get in jersey. The jerk was grilled as it should be and very full of flavor. It was not dry at all. Very good the cabbage was great as well. I was surprised as most just boil it and barley season but the cabbage was amazing as well. Definitely will be returning. I am so happy there is finally something worth spending money on over here. If you had any problems try going in store to get your order.

I found that the rice to meat ratio was way off. They simply don’t put enough rice in the meals especially in the larger orders.
The food is way too spicy. I am from the Caribbean so its not like I’m not used to spice but please take it down a notch.
Overall, the food isn’t bad just those two things and I’d gladly support again.

I really enjoyed my meal! We got oxtail, curry chicken, rice and peas, plantains, cabbage, beef and chicken Patties, Mac and cheese. Everything was very tasty! I don’t even like oxtail personally, but it was still very good. The only thing is that I like my Mac and cheese creamier. But again personal preference. Chef Ricky is so sweet. And I think it was priced fairly! I recommend it

Ordered the red snapper with rice and peas and plantains. Everything was good, especially the fried red snapper….very flavorful. The plantains were just how I like them…very good!! The rice was ok, very dry for what I am used to and could have used a sprinkle of gravy. My son had the oxtail, rice and peas and mac and cheese. He said the oxtail were good, but for a large platter, the quantity was little. He didn’t care for the mac and cheese and he also thought the same about the rice. Would we order from here again…yes, we would give them another shot. The 4-stars is for the sides that could have been better. The fried red snapper and oxtail were the winners for us!!

It’s just ur ordinary chicken with BBQ sauce that you could make even better at home, bones in everything small and large, rice was the only decent thing, took one bite of their coconut bread and got a mouthful of baking soda. Worse restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. The people may be great but the food is not it. Find some where else

I don’t even know where to start. I ordered oxtail and jerked Chicken. The oxtail came with two complete bare tail bones no meat. The other ones had barely any meat on them. Which is sad because this was the best tasting part of the entire meal. Cabbage had no flavor 0 spices bland. Looked really good though if that counts? I never knew rice came without a flavor before, but it does here! Oof the jerked chicken driest piece of chicken I’ve even had, roughest piece of chicken I’ve ever had. You can’t cut it with a knife had to pry bad boy this apart with my hands. And guess what all this chicken tasted like was smoke. AGAIN WITH THE ZERO SPICES??? If I wanted bland chicken that attest like smoke I’d eat with my auntie Ellen who only puts salt on and burns the chicken. PLEASE don’t claim Jamaican food if you can’t provide authenticity. Your food is cultural appropriation, with the lack of knowledge of the spices used in Jamaican cuisine.

Just discovered this restaurant close by & decided to try it. Jerk wings were absolutely tender & amazing. Cabbage could use a little more salt to taste but were still pretty good. Price was very fair, portions were plenty! Will definitely be back!

I was born and raised in Jamaica and I haven’t been home in a year when I tell you that this place makes me feel like I’m in Jamaica, zero lies told!!! Just like my grandma use to make the curry goat, it was a hit!!! I’ll be back again and again and again. Might as well get a subscription service because this is my pay check from now on!!!! Thanks for taking me home!!!
