I travel for work. So when I’m away from home, I try to find local cuisine. After seeing Jamaican Spice ratings and reviews, I had to give it a try. OMG I have not felt this way about Dine-out food in a long time. The whole experience was amazing from the food to the customer service. The mac and cheese was excellent, the cabbage, which I do not like, was absolutely amazing and don’t get me started on the jerk chicken. Thank you so much, Jamaican Spice for the most heavenly, flavorful, mouth watering experience. I will be telling everybody I can about my experience and I will most definitely be back to try the other offerings on your menu.

Hands down the best Jamaican food in WV and it’s always consistently worth the price per portion. It’s so hard to find good, real food for a decent price and get more than 1 meal out of each order. I get that every time I go to Jamaican Spice along with Mama saying hi and thanking me for coming in. Her oxtail is fire, jerk chicken is fire, the patties are fire, even Mama’s test dishes are fire (keep a look out for the grilled braised short ribs on Thursdays, omg talk about tenderism). My lady loves the jerk chicken salad and the cabbage too. Definitely top 3 best eats in all of Motown!

Hands down the best food ever! I will be dreaming about the jerk chicken, curry chicken, plantains and Mac and cheese. I even enjoyed the cabbage (but usually a cabbage person). They have a nice selection of Jamaican soda and juice too. Everything is made fresh that day so be aware the most popular dishes may run out. We got the last cabbage and one of the last Mac and cheese around 6pm. The next time I’m in Morgantown it will be because I wanna eat here again.

Let me tell you about the GEM of a place I found in WV! Their portions are generous and enough to share. The flavor is directly from the islands, its delicious! The sides are good, cabbage, macaroni, red beans, all of them! The chicken is my FAV and its my go-to for lunch for sure. She grills her food fresh daily, its a small, family-owned business, and the food is made with the utmost care and attention to detail. I order online and even after the trip to my home, it still arrives piping hot. I have lived in different places and her food is among my top 2. The only other person was my 1SG (Army) who could cook Jamaican jerk like this.
Overall, I highly recommend. Her prices are fair for what you get. If you can’t finish it all at once, it reheats well, too. All in all, this place is second to none in her category. Superb!

Hidden gem of Morgantown. Truly the best food Ive had here in Morgantown! The lady running the place is also such a kind soul, my gf wasn’t sure what to get and the chicken I got was too spicy for her. The owner asked us if my gf would like the sweet chicken, which we tell her yes. She ends up bringing out a whole sweet chicken and rice dish for her, and tells me not to worry about paying. Completely free, not no small portion meal either! That really meant a lot to us, thank you and God bless you.

This is the best restaurant in Morgantown. Probably the best restaurant in a 40 mile radius. The lady that runs this place is so nice and sweet and is a killer chef. I would eat here every day if I could

Ohh this is foodgasm at its best! A perfect family-owned and operated authentic Jamaican spot right at the heart of Morgantown. The moment you walk in, you will see the chicken pieces marinated in jerk spices being grilled in the smoker outside. The smell of freshly grilled jerk chicken will captivate you for sure. Best jerk chicken I ever had. Their patties are also a must try. And curry goat is so hearty and fills the soul. Must have if you are in WV!

Absolutely amazing food!! Large portions of awesome food, at a reasonable price. I got the jerk chicken, pasta salad with red beans & rice. We also got sweet chicken, cabbage, red beans & rice. Holy smokes. The chicken on both orders were so tender & bursting with flavor. The sides were awesome too. We had to try the Mac & cheese, which was seasoned just perfectly. We also had a few potatoes in our containers which I’m assuming was fries.. so good. Everything was cooked & seasoned to perfection!! Next time we’ll try the fish since every order that came in while we were there, was for the snapper (a Saturday exclusive) & coco bread. Everyone was so friendly!! I can’t wait to go back.

Small family owned business with awesome Jamaican food. We ordered the jerk chicken and red snapper. The chicken was extremely flavorful with huge portion sizes. The snapper was cooked a little bit too long. The side of cabbage and plantains were excellent pairings. Unfortunately we ordered to-go and our order got mixed up and handed to another customer, so we ended up waiting 30 min for our food.
