Ordered food at a window at the rear of the restaurant. Had an ice cold Red Stripe while waiting. You have to check the window or they call your name when it’s ready. You can take your food or pop it open and choose where to sit. We ate at the bar. My fried chicken was crunchy, juice and has that home cooked flavor I crave. Nice job. Also tried the curried goat and loved the flavor. Will be back again as I’m now a fan of their food.

I’m not from Jamaica, nor have I been, so I cannot speak on the authenticy, but the food I had was delicious. The beef and chicken patties were hot, crispy, and flaky with tasty filling. The rice and peas were not dry at all and tasted good. The oxtail was hot, tender, and seasoned wonderfully. Would definitely recommend. Woman at the counter was very nice and brought my food to my table as I was the only person dining in, everyone else opted for carry out.

First time to the main location. It’s huge inside and nice. I was a little confused because everyone else was ordering take out but I was told I could eat in. I opted for the Curry Chicken and Ox Tail combo. Sauteed cabbage and rice. I have to say that the food was just absolutely amazing. So flavorful and delicious. Very generous portions also. Staff were friendly. The owner came out and asked me how I liked everything. I told him it was just very delicious. He saw that I didn’t have a beverage (I forgot to order one) and offered me a water. Very kind of him. I don’t know why this place isn’t packed. I’ve eaten at the smaller location, which was my first, and now the main location. Both times the food has just been top notch. Seasoned just right. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

Impressed with the flavors they brought to the Styrofoam containers! I loved my jerk shrimp – seasoned then battered and fried. The bartender gave me fantastic side dish suggestions; curry potato and fried cabbage. Will be back based on food alone.

I went here yesterday and the person taking my order was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the jerk chicken, macaroni, and rice and peas. The jerk chicken looked like it was old and made hours prior. It didn’t taste bad but it just looked old (kind of dry), though it wasn’t anything special. The rice and peas were really good and the Mac and cheese was kind of mid. I was looking forward to trying to this specific location but I was not impressed. The one off of Door has better jerk chicken and it is fresher, I would recommend trying there’s for sure. Overall probably wouldnt try it again, definitely disappointed.

I’ll have to update this review later because I screwed up and just ordered fried fish with sides, should have ordered a curried or jerk dish. But the catfish was better than just about any catfish I’ve had in a long time– fresh tasting and good seasoning. None of that catfish dankness you sometimes encounter. The plantains were good, fried shrimp was excellent and the fried okra good too. Stir fried cabbage was maybe a little overcooked but still nicely herbed.
Nice ginger beer and kola champagne sodas from Jamaica. My dumb @$$ didn’t notice the full bar until I had ordered my soda.
Next time I’m getting curry and red stripe and I think I’m gonna love it.
