Small drop in restaurant for express service for Jamaican food. Limited options, seating, and staff. We visited today during the tornado and flash flooding. There wasn’t any other customer. The greeting we got was warm and welcoming. The prices seemed reasonable. When we got home we were quite dissatisfied. The rice in the rice and peas was so hard!! The oxtail could have been cooked a little longer to fall off the bone. The flavor was just ok. We got so much rice with 3 oxtail bones!!! The ting grapefruit soda cost more than the other D&G. Why not sell them all for the same price? I won’t be going back but I hope my feedback helps improve their business as I do want them to succeed!

If you never or rarely had good jamaican food than you’ll like this place… I grew up in hartford so I’ve eaten at every restaurant on main street and albany ave… this just lacks the passion in the food. This isn’t a good representation of this cuisine… I appreciate them putting something different here though… but they need to revamp the recipes, change the cook or something. The portions are skimpy for lack luster food… but their new lets give them a chance…if they make some changes, ill go back… until then… NOPE

I really love the food at this restaurant. The patties are always delicious, and the jerk chicken sandwich is phenomenal. Highly recommend checking it out if your in the area, the prices are decent and the portions are good!

The food is excellent. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean. My only complaint would be is the young guy taking orders and getting my food today wasn’t very friendly and seemed I ruined his day. That didn’t make me not want to come back the food was phenomenal but may reconsider if he’s working with the same attitude/tone. A smile goes a long way. Saying hi when people walk in and thank the customer as they’re paying/leaving would make a huge difference and make me feel like you appreciate my business. Just a suggestion. I’ve been here many times and not just the South Windsor location but the first time I’ve experienced this type of attitude. I’ve never had a meal i didn’t enjoy and just wanted to give my feedback. I do recommend this restaurant for sure!!

The food is good, I enjoy what they offer, and the people at service are always nice….it just seems that no matter what time of day, consistently over my last few visits they are always missing some essential item, whether its rice, or meats, or patties. Its very frustrating not being able to trust you’ll be able to order what you want.

Stopped on a whim not far from closing time on a Thursday. Primarily take-out but there are a few tables for 2. Clean. Good service. Excellent oxtail stew and curried goat. Good beef patties. Satisfying portions. Will return to try other dishes.

First time here and I’m usually wary and picky when it comes to trying out new places. This place is clean, service is pleasant and most importantly, the food is praise worthy. I got the jerk wings combo and beef patty w/ cocoa bread. Everything was fresh tasting and savory. I definitely recommend this place!

This review is based on the quality of the food, from my Jamaican spouse who works in the area, and was initially excited that there was a Jamaican restaurant that opened so close by. However, his experience was not pleasing. Stew chicken was fried too hard, which made the chicken too dry. Rice and peas was hard, and flavorless, “steamed” cabbage was tough and undercooked. It’s unfortunate that he will not be eating from there again, especially since the location was promising.

My biggest issue with this place is the coco bread. It is always semi- hard and seems like an old batch. But the patties are super good
