Jamaican Jerk and BBQ Restaurant – Denver, CO

I honestly thought I had already left a review for Jamaican Flavor Fusion because I’ve been eating here for years! This is hands down one of the best places in Denver. I’ve tried a few other spots for oxtails and Jamaican food just because they’re closer to where I live, but nothing compares to this place.

I stopped by recently since I was in the area and super hungry, and I ordered oxtails, Jamaican beef patties, plantains, and mac & cheese — everything was absolutely delicious. The portions are fair, but honestly, I could eat way more because it’s that good!

One day I’m definitely going to get catering from here. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. I’m not sure if they offer delivery, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do. Hands down the best Jamaican food in town. I’d give them 50 stars if I could!

The service was very accommodating. Respectful and very helpful, however the food was a letdown in flavor and seasonings. Oxtail was just melted in gravy. The Mac n cheese & fried catfish were ok. Fried catfish needed seasoning & so did Mac n cheese. Unfortunately it wasn’t the best I’ve had. Cabbage wasn’t good.

I ordered oxtail which came with two sides plantain and rice and peas. Along with jerk pork pasta. Nothing was seasoned, I had to throw my food away because the food tasted horrible. The taste hurt my appetite. The rice and peas tasted like white rice. The pork didn’t have a taste it almost tasted boiled and then served and the pasta did not have much sauce on the noodles and lacked flavor. Lastly the oxtail was not good, I have tried many oxtails from different places and this one disappointed. The oxtail wasn’t cooked thoroughly, lacked color and taste.

Had feathers on my chicken wings and my chicken curry chicken was pink. Called to inform them and they stated that I can receive more wings on my next visit. I let them know that I was unhappy with it and would never return and requested a refund. Spoke with a gentleman and he stated that you can eat feathers and that is how chicken come. That is very scornful and it lets me know that they don’t clean their chicken properly. He argued back and forth regarding a refund which I had to rectify with my bank.

I love the vibe of the restaurant, but I was disappointed by lack of service. Which I could look past if my jerk chicken wasn’t raw in some areas. I was so excited for this food and when I realized how red the chicken was I had to throw it away, and it felt like a waste of money. I hope the owners see this see as a reason to improve, and understand that some of us just want good food and customer service.

Loved the private family owned business. I came from AZ for this, and it did not disappoint. Loved the dumplings, chicken noodle soup, and empanada. Enjoyed the history on the walls. The young lady was polite and helpful with us ordering. Will be back!

I ordered the jerk pork and festival. As a Jamaican I’m actually ashamed that these people opened a restaurant. The festival dough is 100% raw in the middle. I am sickened by what they choose to serve people.

***BETTER THAN SCOTCHIES*** Kind of food that you get an attitude about when people look at you while you eat. Jerk chicken is delicious. Make you bite your fingers while you eat it. Rice and peas always seasoned to perfection. Cabbage is always on point honey drizzle cornbread make you slap your grandma.
