Delicious! This is my second time having their cake and salt fish and they did not disappoint. This is an order and pick up, not a sit down restaurant. Order ahead.

I’m a Caribbean woman from Miami and I know seasoning and authentic Caribbean food. Since moving to Virginia a lot of “just okay” food.

The portion sizes are reasonable given the price. It tastes like someone’s Jamaican grandma made it in her kitchen. I’ve had several trendy or famous Jamaican food in the DMV area and this for me is the most memorable.

The photo is of the brown stew chicken and rice and peas. I devoured the ackee before I can take photo.

This Curry Goat with rice and peas was mouth-watering! The flavor was great, mildly spicy and lightly salted, tender with bone in. Best authentic dish I’ve had across the country! I travel a lot, both domestically and internationally. I thought this meal was home-cooked by a Jamaican auntie or uncle! It was a a large serving, value for money! ordered on Door dash, the packaging and temperature was perfect.

Update:

I deducted a star because the inconsistency in the portions is wild. If you get the goat, you have to ensure you tell them to not fill it with bones. It’s a hit or miss and unfortunate when you order meat only goat and get a bunch of bones. Goat has bones but it doesn’t need to be that many where there is barely enough meat. The festivals sometimes come out super hard and undercooked as well.

Past review:

Best Jamaican food in the area. The taste is VERY authentic. The chef is from Jamaica and so that explains it. The curry chicken and provisions as the side is amazing! The curry goat is wow. The stew chicken too. The festivals are great and the fry dumplings. The jerk chicken is great except the sauce. However I would go for the bbq jerk instead as that sauce is more complimentary. I have been to all Jamaican spots in DC and Maryland and I can confidently say this is in the top 3. Just make sure to order ahead as it can sometimes take some time.

The food was bomb ! So authentic and yummy. I got curry Goat, rice and peas, Mac and cheese, and a beef patty. For less than $24 I was very pleased. The wait time was quite long, approximately 45 minutes but it was worth it. Also, the portion sizes were excellent.

Ps. This place has no one on one contact with staff. And everything is ordered online or through the kiosk. Only Takeout, no dine in.

Ordered extra meat on one plate. Paid extra. They came with the same exact amount, waste of money. The food was okay, not good, not bad but needs more seasoning. Definitely not authentic. Not only that but the stew chicken has ALOTTTTT of little bones. It’s hard to eat because you have to focus on picking bones out. I do not recommend for kids just eating a quick meal. You have to focus on every bite to avoid not hurting yourself. Good luck. I don’t recommend, would never come back.

First time customer and stumbled upon this place! Food was 9/10. Curry chicken plate Came out fresh and hot! Meat was tender and falling off of the bone. Placed my order at 4:00 received a text that it was ready by 4:20. Very fast service. The reason why it wasn’t a 10/10 is because of the Mac and cheese. Wasn’t my personal favorite but it could be due to the fact that thicker shells were used. The beef patty was incredible! compared to other Jamaican spots, I did think this place was affordable. You get a lot of food for the amount you pay. really hard to find a good Jamaican spot in this area but I will be returning to this restaurant.

Rice and peas had zero seasoning; jerk chicken was okay but more bone than meat; small mac and cheese portion but tasty. Beef patty was great

I ordered using Uber eats. The food was the best tasting food I’ve had in a while. The chef and cook’s really delivered a tasty well seasoned meal. My husband and I ordered the oxtails meals with mixed stir Fry, rice and peas, Mac & cheese. Our son had the jerk chicken with 2x Mac& cheese sides. Rave reviews for the chef and his team!!! We will be ordering again soon. Oh, and the quantity very generous.

This place is this far the best Jamaican place that I have tried. I have been grabbing brown stew chicken atleast 3-4 times a week. I highly recommend this place if you like Caribbean cuisine.

The food can be one thing but the service and atmosphere is COMPLETELY another. The locker system is a hit or miss. The iPad will show no order found. Or will not show anything but just restart. Then there is no person at the window, order can be ready for 30 minutes and still no pickup. I called the number for pickup times when i arrived at 12:15 , it’s 12:45 right now and no update on if the order is ready ready or anything. I called the number again and employee answers to say “no one is treating you different” it’s not about that, it’s about wasting time on an order saying ready 35 minutes ago….. completely a waste of time Uber order people wait for 40 minutes for order to be done. When the iPad messes up you’re not able to use the locker system is so unorganized. Just a complete waste of time when I could’ve went somewhere else and got the same price food that taste the same and supposedly authentic Jamaican as well.

ADDON:
The curry chicken is very mediocre, actually has no curry grill cooking flavor just chicken with curry cause . The skin in chicken on top is oily and then . The vegetables which is shredded cabbage greens and carrots has not an ounce of seasoning. best thing within the meal is the rice of red beans&rice.
