Im visiting Pittsburgh from NY and I googled Carribean Food. Although it was a 20 minute drive from my hotel… the food is worth the trip. Nicole is very welcoming as you enter her restaurant. I ordered the oxtail dinner and the barbi fried chicken. Both meals were delicious.

I went to the restaurant at 10:15AM as that’s the opening time. I ordered a large stew chicken and beef patty. After paying, I was advised that stew chicken and beef patties were not ready. I was told at time what was ready. I selected the oxtail as there was nothing else I wanted. I also negotiated and received the oxtail at the same price as the stew chicken, which was good on their part. As a Jamaican oxtail is cooked with butter beans, this was not the case. The patty was good, I wish it was more flaky and thicker. I am truly not a fan of oxtail, but it was okay. Here’s a tip if you open at 10:00 AM, the chef needs to be in the kitchen from 6:00 AM to have everything ready for opening. I will be back as i am hoping they see my review and take it as constructive criticism and my personal experience.

It’s a small place. Nothing glamorous. But the food is delicious! Chicken falls right off the bone. Perfectly cooked. The dumplings and cocoa bread are excellent side choices. Pricing is VERY reasonable! I need to try the ox tails next time, but I have high hopes.

Food was amazing and anyone putting less than 5 stars must be some big backs w/small pockets. First time here and we had Friendly service, food was hot & the smell when you walk in I just knew it would be a new favorite. Reading the reviews here are reason why small business do not thrive. You want them to sell plates for $5 knowing how expensive food has gone up. This is a place that should not go out of business I will continue to eat here and support our local businesses.
To the business please keep thriving someone will pay your prices. Food was excellent.
Also the big backs leaving bad reviews about prices I never been to a Jamaican spot who sells plates less than what this establishment has. It’s fair pricing y’all are just hungry leaving reviews and we have to see yall pictures knowing yall are big. Who negotiates on food prices??? You wanna discount because you waited on fresh food is big back energy.

I got the Large Jerk Chicken Meal. I made a plate for myself for lunch and the container were my leftovers. For $15, this was more than enough food for me to have lunch and dinner later. You walk in and you’re greeted with the smell of warm spices and a friendly smile. The prices are great and the food is even better. The woman working the counter asked if I wanted gravy on my rice and beans and I told her to make it how she would eat it. Advice: GET THE GRAVY! The chicken was so tender and the jerk had just the right amount of spice. I will absolutely be back.

Got lucky finding this hidden gem. The oxtails was fall off the bone delicious. And mac and cheese was actually cooked properly. Prices were fair for the portions that were served. I will definitely be back again. The owner was friendly and timely with service.

Very good. I get the brown stewed chicken and it is delicious. As someone who wasn’t used to Caribbean cuisine, I can say that this place is definitely a hidden gem. Just be aware that prices are a little on the higher end

Yuh mad!!! Overpriced and undergood. Yuh fi duh dat? The poverty on your wallet, oppressive hunger, and dissatisfaction left with that would make Bob Marley roll in his grave. I came for oxtails…I was given the option between small and large. Ordered the large oxtail meal at a steep price of $26. Usually I won’t put a price on good authentic Jamaican but once I opened the container I quickly realized I just paid $26 for rice and peas…and by peas i quite literally mean 8. Yes, so barren I counted. Now to the oxtails: Rahtid! Abandon taste buds all ye who enter. The large meal equals 6 of the smallest gravy-less oxtails I’ve ever been served. Cabbage was good. I should have taken that $26 across the street and quite literally would’ve been able to buy 17 hot dogs with more flavor and love. The only thing good about this place is the exit door.
