Easygoing cafe serving traditional Jamaican food such as snapper & jerk pork, plus lunch specials.

So first I wanna preface my review by saying the service was really good and the staff was super friendly with providing me recommendations. The food was fresh and flavorful and I ended up getting the oxtails combo. The only con was that the oxtails I received were very bone heavy so there wasn’t a lot of meat at all. I think next time I’ll try their strew chicken or another entree.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while. The food was pretty good. One reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I would’ve preferred more oxtail for $20 (medium plate) and also more than one piece of plantain. I also think $5 for a patty is excessive, but I know there aren’t many options around for Jamaican food and it definitely satisfied my craving. The service I had was excellent, no issues there. I was even able to call ahead to place my order and then pick up quickly. I like that they sell other items – I got some soup packets and there were seasonings, tea, and other items for sale as well. I’m sure I’ll be back the next time I’m feeling for oxtail.

This Caribbean eatery in the Dallas area is a hidden gem, offering great outdoor dining options and mouthwatering food. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out!

Food was good. It’s a small space, so be prepared to take out. The owner was great and very accommodating. A few of customers were there ordering at the same time, be prepared to wait a little bit if this happens. There is parking provided, for about 4-5 cars at a time. Like I said it’s a pick up and go vibe. There are also some Jamaican favorites available to buy in store like pepper sauces, browning and jerk seasoning.

This food is absolutely disgusting. “Jerk chicken” not actually jerk chicken, but heavily smoked. Literally, I did not taste any seasoning, JUST GREASE. Oxtails…tough and dry. Goat atrociously greasy. Rice and peas…greasy. Cabbage, plain and very little amount. Ignore all the 4-5 stars that you see. If you ever plan on saying, “let’s try this place” like I did, it’s on you because you were warned. Family Mix is also a ripoff by the way.

Food was delicious and is very authentic to the Jamaican flavor. Spice level was great not too hot at all. I would definitely be going back. The oxtails could’ve been a little bit more tender, but the jerk chicken was great and those beef patties were amazing 10 out of 10 on those.

Dont believe the negative reviews. I came in right before a storm and the customer service was nice.
The owner told me he was a former banker turned restaurant owner and he cooks everyday because he wants it done right.
The food was spectacular. I got a lot of food for $27.
Large Curry Chicken w a side of mac & cheese. The plate came w rice & peas, cabbage & plantains for $20.
The taste of the Curry was yummy. Perfectly Seasoned with a little spice. Cabbage, Rice and Peas & Plantain were tasty as well. Mac & Cheese was not my preference.
Because of the bad weather he was going to close down to get home to McKinney before it got too bad so he blessed me with a veggie pie.
The restroom wasn’t inside, it was a small room connected to the establishment and it was clean. (No pic due to rain
I enjoyed my dinner and will have leftovers tomorrow
Fyi, the men before me drove all the way from Forney, Tx again for the food. That says something!!!

I’ve given this restaurant three chances, and the consistency just isn’t there.
The first time I ordered curry goat, I received oxtails instead (I do not eat oxtails). I called and they corrected it with no issue, so I decided to give them another try.
The second time, I ordered curry goat again and they swapped it for curry chicken. That is not an equivalent swap, and I have never ordered curry chicken from anywhere, so that was frustrating. If I wanted something I can cook easily at home, I would not be ordering it.
This third time, I ordered curry goat again and they sent oxtails again, and they did not answer the phone when I tried to get it corrected.
At this point it even looks crazy on my DoorDash account because I have had to request multiple refunds, all for issues I did not cause. This business will not last doing people like this. It is disappointing because when the order is right, the food is good, but the accuracy and communication are not there.
