Awesome personality love it. Food was fresh hot and very tasty. I’m a Miami native so authentic Island food is my go to I can say this spot is up there with the real authentic a true island person cooking not americanized nor over seasoned. I got the jerk salmon rice qnd peas and cabbage all very tasty I just did not like the softness and texture of the plantains is the only reason not a 5 I could not eat them

I was worried when I read the reviews after I already ordered from ubereats but my food arrived hot and delicious. Rib tips so tender and tasty, rice and peas are good too. That meal was 10 out of 10. I also ordered cury chicken with Mac n cheese and Cabbage. Soo good except Mac n cheese noodles were slightly overcookedand could use more cheese. That didn’t stop me from eating it with the cury sauce tho. Portions are generous and priced very fairly. My stomach was hurting because I couldnt stop eating. Also I order right before closing after 10pm and my food did NOT taste old like some reviews said. So good and flavorful I will definitely order again the next time I’m delivering or picking up in this area.

Rice & Beans was lit!! Cabbage was lit!!! Plantains delicious! The shrimp didn’t taste good. It was not fresh. Overall not sure if I’ll be back! Plantain’s are not included in the meals anymore so you have to pay for a side. I only needed maybe 4. They need to have an option for an x small side for $2. Instead I paid $4 for a side.

Don’t be fooled by the shabby, no-frills vibe when you walk in. That’s typical of most Jamaican takeout restaurants i’ve dined in growing up in Toronto, Canada. What this restaurant lacks in decor and atmosphere, makes up the difference in value and taste. I received courteous service from the elderly Jamaican uncle behind the counter. Astounding value for your dining dollars. The jerk taco (2 of ’em) served with cook-up rice (rice & peas) was amazing! The pic of the jerk taco special in this pic is only $7.
Also, this restaurant catered a team meal at our Amazon warehouse down the street on my recommendation (we were celebrating Caribbean week for our DEI engagement!). They served Jerk Chicken. Everyone LOVED it. Very spicy. This restaurant delivered food excellence in spades!
The only beef I have with this place is wanting to drop in for a lunch meal numerous times, only to show up with the doors closed because they did not at the exact time they advertise. Also, they were out of beef patties. One of these days, if i’m lucky, i’ll return when they actually have beef patties ready to serve/sell.

Never again. Ordered an oxtail dinner and got nothing but 3 small oxtails maybe four and a bunch of soup and a side of candid yams. I asked him if it came with rice and he said no you have to pay extra. Mind you I spent around $25 and for a bunch of soup pretty much. Not to mention it didn’t taste fresh and I had to wait 20+ mins.

Have visited this place many times over the years, the ribtips are very good. Tonight I was in area and decided to stop in. Ordered small ribtip and the cashier asked did I want rice? I said um no, fries that usually come with it. The wait was almost 30 minutes, restaurant very cold as usual, and get home to eat and had about a lb of burnt fries(the dark tint is burnt not bbq sauce). Very dissapointed this place goes down each time I come it seems.

First time we tried this place. We ordered jerk wings dinner, rib tip dinner, and Mac n cheese. Meat was very tender and flavorful! Mac and cheese and rice and beans were also really good! Will order again and we were hesitant after reading reviews but we had absolutely no issues at all! Thanks again!

Ok, now that I got the most important part out of the way – Jam Rock exceeded my expectations
Most of the low reviews I read here were about how long people had to wait for their food
Personally, I had my food delivered so I can’t speak directly to what it’s like to order in person. But if time is important, then I just recommend ordering in advance for pickup or on Uber Eats like I did.
Because I do believe the food is worth it. I don’t think you can get traditional flavors like this anywhere close, especially near Naperville.
The jerk chicken plate was great. It has heat to it (my fiance felt it was a little too hot for her, but just right for me) so just be prepared
It also comes with sides which I recommend getting AT LEAST the rice & peas
Finally, the rib tips. I’m still thinking about them even a week after I had them. They’ve got great flavor, a nice sauce, and they’re served over a bed of fries.
All of this by the way came in huge portion. So if you’re looking for bang for your buck or something to share with your partner (or even family), these guys don’t cheap out
