The Tampiquena and fajitas were amazing. Tender steak, very flavorful. The rice and the beans were amazing and Marcos (?) brought me extra lime and consistent refills of my drink. Everyone smiling and happy there even though we were in at an off time for late lunch. Beautiful decor and super clean. Highly recommend!

The food is really good, it has flavor and seasoning. It is a bit expensive, so heads up. The only reason for the 4 stars is because they have only soccer on the TV.
The restaurant has typical Mexican decor. The seats are used barrels, which are surprisingly comfortable.

I decided to take my coworker out for lunch today and have to say it was a good choice. So, let me get into it! The moment you enter Jalisco Restaurant you can feel how welcoming the staff is. It is very laid back and easy going. It will have to say it was very popping! There was a huge party that filled the entire store! That’s how one knows it’s good I will say! The food was excellent. I got the tortas and I did like it a lot. The chicken was very juicy and very tasty. I could tell the cooks really cared about the dish and even my friend food. The service was pretty good only thing was our waitress forgot to bring our chips out. Overall, I will say this is the spot for tacos in this area!

My wife & I wanted to eat some Mexican food & we came to this place. We were greeted right away once we entered the restaurant. Chips & salsa were fresh. We both ordered steak tacos. They we delicious. The waiter frequently came up to us to make sure we had everything we needed. Not many restaurants do this with such frequency. I cant comment on the drinks because we didnt have any. We had a great experience & will definitely be back.

Visited this, what i would describe as an authentic mexican restaurant on a recent Thursday night. The place was very crowded which is always a good sign.

Enjoyed the Enchillades and the taco salad entrees which were flavorful and well portioned. Ordered the small Corona rita (Mango) drink which was delicious and festive for the meal.

Located 3 minutes, away from Six Flags Amusement Park, off of Route 132, stop in and enjoy this place.

Update: enjoyed another visit 3rd week of July, again enjoyed the CoronaRita along with the Enchillada entree and the Taco Salad, this time with seasoned beef.

Food-Drink always great. Place can be crowded at peak time, but that is a good thing.

The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all on point. Maria was our waitress and she was great. My wife and I trusted her to pick out our meals, and she did not disappoint. The margarita was a ten, and food was just as good. I’m from outside the area , but I would definitely consider going here again if I was anywhere close.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in Gurnee, Jalisco is a great place to satisfy your cravings. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with colorful décor and traditional Mexican music playing in the background. The service is friendly and attentive, although a little slow at times.

But what really sets Jalisco apart is the delicious food. The menu is full of classic Mexican dishes, from tacos and burritos to fajitas and enchiladas. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. We particularly enjoyed the enchiladas, steak tacos, and ceviche tostadas. Frozen margaritas (I had the mango and it was delicious) and the micheladas were also good!

A few cons: Dinner for four was about $100, and while the food was good, not sure I’d pay that much again when I can get similar food and quality from other Mexican restaurants for about $40-$60. Also, both my wife and I experienced stomach discomfort and frequent trips to the restroom that evening and the next day, but our sons didn’t not have an issue.

Overall, Jalisco is a good choice for anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. However, not the most economical choice and I’ll chalk the stomach issues to our food choices, and not so much the food at the restaurant.

I’ve dined at this establishment on occasion and it’s OK, there are a lot of better Mexican restaurants in Lake County. That being said we were passing by and decided on placing an order for takeout. Upon ordering tacos, I noticed that there was a mandatory choice and a lot of them were $.30 additional and they were cheese, avocado, and some other options but it was mandatory to choose in order to place the order. We chose she’s thinking it would be queso fresco it ended up being Munster. On top of that queso fundido was inedible. It looked like it taste
