The food was OK. Carne Asada was plain, nothing special about it, but the prawns were really good. The kids meals were OK and but one of our kids bean and cheese burritos were taken as if they were done but they weren’t and they replaced it with a big burrito with everything in it and then we told her ( older lady with blonde streaks ) it was just a kid bean and cheese burrito And they wouldn’t remake that for our kid…And then they try to not give us the cash half off until we argued it then they gave it to us, but we had to argue then try to give us gratuity with six people!?!PAID OUR BILL! Then my older boys came to eat there as we were walking out and I was trying to pay their bill for food, they would not give them 1/2 half!? I dont get it with this Lady!? The older lady with blonde Streaks got all Loud bout it and kept cutting me off when I would try and talk. I’m done with these place!

Overall food was ok. Typical Mexican restaurant experience where it tasted good In the moment, and felt it a bit after.
Atmosphere was very standard for jalapeños. No complaints.
Service was sub-par. Server was clearly unhappy with people being there, and we were very much an inconvenience to her.

Awesome kid friendly spot! Every table had toys for kids, there were games and puzzles. Food was great! Portions were huge! And our server was fantastic! I really loved this little stop on our way home!

Jalapeños had delicious food and great service. We ordered asada tacos, steak fajitas, pollo asado and a bean, rice and cheese burrito. The steak fajitas were a little chewy but everything else was on another level. We really enjoyed the salsa! We ordered to go, but the waitress was really nice and provided excellent suggestions. We believe the prices were fair. We almost went back the next day for more salsa.

This was our second visit to this location. We really want to love it because it’s the most convenient for us, but we had another subpar experience. My wife got the breakfast burrito & it was 90% potato. It’s as if they wanted to make it appear large so they packed it FULL of potato. We’ve decided we prefer the Barkley location so far. Also across all the locations they tack on an unexplained 3% kitchen service charge?!

They were very slow and got the order wrong twice we were there for almost an hour and the only time we talked to our waitress we had to flag her down because she never came to see us. A very nice staff but they have some commication problems that they could work on. They took about 10 minutes to be able to get us a seat when the restaurant was almost empty.

Love the new jalapeños! The food was so delicious and the service was quick and efficient. Our server Nathaly was such a lovely server and got us our food and drinks right away. The vibe was so fun and colorful! We got the he carne asada tacos and Tex mex chicken tacos. We also got a big papa and a big mama. Everything was spectacular. Can’t wait to go again. 100% recommend you go here.

We visited the newest & 4th Bellingham location of Jalapenos for their annual Thanksgiving event. They give the public a generous 50% off when paying cash on the day before Thanksgiving each year.
We decided to try their newest location, just north of Walmart on Guide Meridian. I can see how popular this location could be with Lynden residents and those traveling down from Canada. Very easy to find and get to.
I recognized one of the staff members from another location & it was so many years ago that I saw her. To me, it shows what a great place it is to work if they keep so many of their staff. I know many have worked there for close to a decade or more. I love that.
Food: I tried the mango habanero margarita. Loved it. Sweet at first and then the heat kicks in. We got their queso with chorizo (always great), enchiladas, and their pork carnitas with two kinds of beans instead of rice and refried beans. Everything was big portions and tasty.
The atmosphere is fun and lively, just like their other locations. We saw a table with a young boy who ordered the “biggest burrito in Bellingham” and it’s even bigger than you’re picturing right now. Something the whole table could have split if they wanted to.

We went for a light lunch. Had a margarita and two street tacos. The Carne Escada was great, but I wasn’t as fond of the shrimp taco, which was mixed with bacon and onions. All in all, though, it was a good lunch. I prefer the atmosphere of the location further south in Bellingham in a strip mall by Haggens.

How did we not know about this place. Quite possibly the best restaurant salsa EVER! Wait staff that actually knows the menu and gave the perfect advice while ordering. We got exactly what we wanted. It was all yummy. Our wait person accidentally made a huge margarita and we had ordered a tiny one. Fantastic night. Going back soon I hope!!!
