A truly exceptional dining experience at Jalepeño’s—grace, precision, and culinary excellence.

Jalepeño’s in Annapolis proved once again why it’s a beloved local gem. After initially declining our large-party reservation due to a packed Saturday night, the manager had a change of heart and personally called my husband just four minutes later—demonstrating remarkable empathy and commitment to their guests. That gesture alone set the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Despite the tight turnaround and full house, the service was flawless. Our table of about a dozen was served starters and entrees with perfect timing—no delays, no mix-ups, and every dish arrived fresh and beautifully prepared. The coordination required for such precision under pressure speaks volumes about the team’s professionalism.

Jalepeño’s proudly serves more than just Mexican cuisine—it’s a celebration of Latin American flavors, with standout dishes from Spain, Cuba, and across South America. This diversity shone through our meal, impressing even our guests from Spain, Colombia, and discerning food cities like Chicago and San Francisco. From the rich Ropa Vieja to the elegant Paella Marinera and Vieras con Azafrán, every plate reflected authenticity and care.

The menu’s fusion of Mexican and Spanish tapas, saffron-infused rice dishes, and bold moles confirms Jalepeño’s reputation as one of Annapolis’ finest. The Enchiladas de Mole, served with traditional Oaxacan dark mole, were a standout—smoky, complex, and perfectly balanced.

We left not only satisfied but deeply grateful—for the second chance at a reservation, for the warmth of the staff, and for a meal that honored both our celebration and the rich culinary traditions on display.

A heartfelt thank you, Jalepeño’s. You’ve earned loyal patrons once more.

We met at Jalapenos for a family holiday celebration. They were able to accommodate a same day reservation for eight, and the experience was stellar. Our server, Sonia, was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I asked a question about gluten and she immediately made sure I knew of any items to avoid.
The food was delicious and we can recommend the tamales, shrimp burrito, masita cubana, ropa vieja, guacamole, and, of course, the margaritas and red sangria. Those were just the items we had, but I am sure everything else is equally satisfying.

This place has become an Annapolis staple for fine Latin cuisine. With so many similar style restaurants in Annapolis, it is a true testament to both quality and cost that this restaurant has been thriving for so long. The food is awesome, service amazing, and the margaritas are primo! They’ll sneak up on you!

Amazing assortment of tapas. So delicious, the perfect bites packed with flavors. Good paellas, although they come out a bit too quickly and add a result, the Safran doesn’t have time to infuse with the rice fully. Great service too. The wine selection is descent and very well priced.

This Mexican restaurant is our all time favorite! We had a wonderful meal! We ordered Scallops, shrimp, fish, and pork chop. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and lively. They also have the best guacamole too. The service is incredible. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed!

When visiting Annapolis, visit Jalapeños! My new favorite place. Spanish style restaurant with flare. Dont let the outside strip mall window scare you! The stunning beauty of this restaurant feels like Spain. Lots of space for large parties & children. Prices range fair to great! An entire menu section devoted to tapas! Flavorful Food is thoughtfully and beautifully prepared. The warm atmosphere is friendly and inviting. My friend ordered chicken and I had chile relleno. The beans & rice were delicious and delicately seasoned. The chicken chile relleno was smothered in tangy salsa verde and cooked perfectly.
While I would have preferred larger pieces of chicken instead of shredded chicken, the dish worked. It’s not spicy and not over salted. Felt full and satisfied. We will return to try more dishes.

Accessibility denied. Loyalty dismissed.

I never thought I’d be writing this review, because I’ve been a fan of Jalapeños in Annapolis for decades. Unfortunately, today’s experience was so disappointing that I feel it’s necessary to share.

At 4pm yesterday, two friends and I arrived for Happy Hour. One of my friends is a senior, recovering from a stroke, and uses a cane. She was clearly unable to sit comfortably or safely at the high bar stools, so the host kindly seated us at a nearby table with regular chairs in the dining area. The restaurant was completely empty – because it was Monday at 4pm

Shortly after, we were told the manager needed to “approve” Happy Hour service at that table. When he arrived, his response was that if he allowed it for us, he’d “have to allow it for everyone.” This, despite the fact that THE RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY and we have supported this restaurant for years at countless gatherings for lunches, happy hours and dinners. This is also a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, by the way.

We left, and sadly, we won’t be returning. To deny a loyal customer–who has accessibility needs–a simple accommodation in an empty restaurant shows a complete lack of customer service and compassion.

After decades of being one of our local favorites, Jalapeños has lost us as customers. Deeply disappointing.

Great, friendly service! The guacamole is chunky and had lots of cilantro, sprinkled with roasted red pepper and some tomatoes. The tradition margarita was ok. The salsa had the consistency of stewed tomatoes. We asked for more bc we wanted to try it a little spicier. The chips were light, thin and warm. The pesto-jalapeño quesadillas were delicious, the diced tomatoes the dish was served with were not so appetizing. Also there was no kick/no heat. The Caribbean salad with chicken was delicious. The music was very old, enjoyable nonetheless.

This place is okay, but it’s a bit overrated for the quality of its food. They served plain Uncle Ben’s rice, and everything tasted like it had been canned. It was just really mediocre. I could make a better-tasting enchilada, and that’s definitely not something you want to think about while trying to enjoy a nice dinner with family.
