Being from the Midwest, I am always skeptical of non-Midwest steakhouses (call me bias ) but goodness, I am already looking forward to another visit to Jake’s!
We ordered several dishes, and what a delight! We shared the porterhouse for 2 and it was perfectly charred, tasty, and medium rare inside. The French Onion Soup was in the sweeter side, but rich and herby. The Mussels with spicy marinara was spectacular, and was likely our favorite. The sauce had a kick and we ended up just eating like soup, it was so yummy. We ended with the creme brulee, which was ok – it seemed pre-prepared and was missing the classic crunch on top, but it was a nice sweet treat!

This was our second time here, first time we celebrated my husband’s birthday and now our wedding anniversary. Food was delicious!! Staff is very pleasant from the hostess to the waitress. The atmosphere is chill and somewhat romantic depending on the occasion. Great place for a date, outing with family or catching up with friends over dinner. The porter house for 2 is perfect if you’re sharing and the truffle Mac and cheese is the best!

The price is relatively high, but the portion sizes of the food are very small. In particular, the steak is just average. When you order a steak in many steak restaurants, they usually offer side dishes like broccoli or mashed potatoes. However, these are all a la carte. A single potato costs $12, and a small portion of broccoli also costs $12, and it’s really tiny. The taste of the food is truly very ordinary.

We had a great experience here! The customer service was excellent — friendly and attentive staff. I really appreciated the clean nappy changing area for babies, which made our visit much easier. The food was good overall, especially the fries. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was ok, my tuna tater look like ground beef instead of tuna, no seasoning at all, steak was ok but not for $50. Service, top notch, waitress was awesome. Atmosphere stunk, or maybe it was our bad luck, got seated next to a party of 6 who obviously had not eat out before and thought they were at their kitchen table, screaming the conversations, swearing etc. For what we paid for our meal for 4 (over $600 with tip) you would think the management could have asked them to more appropriate. Dont think ill be going back anytime soon.

Did the Sunset Special menu, which gives you an appetizer, main course & dessert from a preset menu. Ordered the mussels in spicy red sauce, as the app. The mussels were practically entry inside. The sauce was good. My wife had the mussels in white wine & here too had nothing in them. Had the short ribs w/ mash potatoes & red cabbage, it was really good. Was celebrating my father’s & brother in law’s birthday & they did these sparkling candles on the dessert & sang happy birthday. Besides the mussels everything was good. Christian was our server & he was fantastic.

Normally I’d give Jakes a 4or 5 star rating. I don’t go often because of the price, but once or twice a year, during the fall/holiday season I like to go, because the food really is, normally, top notch. This time, however, I cant say the same. The atmosphere was, as always, fantastic, tables neatly placed, and enough space between different parties. We always ask for a table next to the window overlooking the park. Service was spot on, except, oddly, the server cleaning the crumbs and plates, who was a bit, brash? I suppose he was just busy and wanted to get things done ASAP. I cant speak for the quality of food my other guests had, but for me, I ordered the cheese/crab mancotti with a citrus hollandaise sauce, truthfully it just wasnt very good the dough was gluey, the filling seemed to lack any cheese or other flavor other than crab. My dish, off the special menu, was also a hollandais3 inspired seafood dish–seabass–which was good, however, the rice and string beans that came along with the dish was both dry and hard. Lastly, I ordered a diet coke, the first which tasted fine, however, after having finished it, it sat empty without a refill for most of the evening, only, finally to be refilled with a diet coke that tasted HORRIBLE. I couldn’t place it on the soda itself or the ice, my mom and dad both tasted amd agreed it tasted off. Suffice it to say, I didn’t finish it. Overall, as a patron of Jakes for years at this point, this was the very first time that I came out disapointed. Some may say its a steak joint why did I go with fish–my answer is I don’t like steak and have always gotten a delicious non-steak plate here before. I will return in hopes that this evening was a one-off, however, I hope its not a sign of decline for this establishment, because if so, the price of last nights dinner and experience wqs undeserving.

Made a reservation online. It was honored and we were seated right away. This was NYE so it is hard to tell what service looks like on a regular night. Valet took car and keys as we drove up. No spots on the street were available. Place looked clean. Porterhouse and lobster tails were tasty. Tails a little overdone. Oysters were mostly good; just a few not too great and had some grit. I saw the manager performing service recovery for a few tables which was concerning and yet reassuring that they were attentive to customers needs. There seemed to be plenty of waiters but they kept hovering towards the kitchen and were a little absent near the end of our meal. Took a few tries to hail down our waitress to bring the check, process the check, and bring change. We were just in a bit of a rush to make it to our next reservation and had finished our meals and drinks for a while. Staff were pleasant. Spent over $300 for the 2 of us. Upper room seating was nice. When leaving tipped the valet; no base charge. May return during better season for view of the park.

Fantastic experience, our server teddy was amazing! The only thing better was the food.

It came out in a timely manner. Every dish was truly delectable. You can taste the truffle on the macaroni and steak was unmatched for flavor.

Teddy did a fantastic job timing the food and guiding our culinary experience. It was amazing!!!

Highly recommend. Service was on point. A delicious surf and turf dinner. Tender filet mignon and sweet lobster. Both cooked perfectly. Grilled asparagus just right. Appetizer of steamed mussels with garlic wine sauce. Lovely dessert of apple crumb cheesecake. Specialty cocktails – don’t miss! Roll me out of here. But happily!
