I got Jake’s big breakfast. The scrambled eggs were done perfectly. Crispy bacon sits on top of well seasoned home fries. They have gluten free toast that’s fluffier and more satiating than what I usually see.
The second picture is from the specials menu: Chorizo hash benny on jalapeño cornbread. That thing was a satiating mix of textures and flavors. “The flavors are having a party in my mouth” – My satisfied roommate. The sweet potatoes on the side are a nice touch.
Overall a clear local favorite and I’ll be back soon.

I came here in search for pancakes and waffles and received more than what I imagined. The hospitality was so infectious from all the staff starting from the entrance to the chefs! Even the customers were polite and friendly! The portions are generous, the atmosphere is welcoming and the prices are reasonable. The waffles were perfectly crispy and light while being aerated and soft on the inside The pancakes were huge, fluffy, and made with thick quality batter; I ordered strawberries and cream with my pancakes The amount of care put into the food steams as it hits your table. I’m a huge supporter of small businesses and this mom and pop cafe is perfect if you are in the area. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Boston!

Absolutely the BEST PLAY ON EGGS BENE ONE EVER EATEN! The perfect poached egg, firm white and soft,runny yolk. The bechemel cheese sauce was sooo good with the corned beef hash and buttered English muffin! The homefries were seasoned well and the Italian sausage on the side was the kicked to knock it out! Jakes has been a Marlborough staple for many years and is an awesome little place. There is always a line on weekends, but it moves quickly and is worth the wait. It is hard to choose because everything is so good! The homemade (they have the canned stuff too so make sure you specify the homemade) corned beef hash is delicious. The omelette is huge and well done. Bacon is perfectly cooked and a value compared with similar places. Their waffles is what often brings me here though. The Cannoli Berry waffle is a thing of dreams! There are many waffle choices and you cannot go wrong with any of them. For the kids, there are Mickey and Minnie pancakes. If you are not a breakfast fan, fear not, there is plenty for you on the menu. The salads, yes! salads, are amazing here. I love the berry salad with boccochini mozzarella, pecans, chicken and mixed greens. The Autumn salad is yummy as well. The burgers are decent, chili hearty-just go and try, you will be pleased! The service can be a bit cool, but the staff is run ragged. If you are patient and treat them as you wish to be treated, they will usually reciprocate in kind. Jakes is a true neighborhood gem!

I will tell you I think I eat here almost every day of the week. The food is top-notch. The service is outstanding and I mean that I speak from my heart. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs is Custom. It’s delicious. Homemade if you haven’t been here you gotta come because you don’t know what you’re missing and when you leave, you’ll say that guy was right.
