We have been going here for years. We love Jake’s. We go almost every Friday we’re at the lake. They have the best fried mushrooms. The ribeye is always cooked perfect. I also really like the fried catfish. The ranch dressing is excellent as well. Very reasonably priced and the staff is always very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend calling and making reservations.

I took my mom in law out to dinner tonight here for her birthday. There were five adults, one teenager and one child in our dinner party. The only reason I am not giving a five star rating is because of the service. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant but the service was not the best. We had to ask for drinks to be refilled and there were other issues. They failed to tell me that they were attaching an automatic 18 percent gratuity to my bill, which meant she was getting almost a $28 tip. I had planned on leaving a tip but not that much. She was not overly busy with other tables so there was no reason for her poor service. When I said something about the automatic tip, that it was too much, she didn’t say anything about it. If you want a delicious steak and baked potato, then go, but expect poor service.

The food was fantastic. I had blackened Talapia and it was just right. Onion rings were very good as well. Service seemed a little slow, however we did have a party of 13. We went during lunch on a Wednesday. It was not crowded at all. Nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Ive been here a few times and I’ve always had already experience. This time was no different. Our server was quick and friendly. Our orders came out very quickly and was cooked to perfection. Everything was perfect. I definitely recommend this place. It’s one of the best in the area for sure.

Was in the area today scoping out houses, getting ready to buy. Stopped in, got seated after about 10 minutes. Waitress brought 2 teas and I had ordered water..okay. We ordered food as well as a dessert to go. After about 20 minutes she brought the cheesecake to go, and we thought she would bring our food almost immediately…but we waited and waited..after about 45 minutes I went and asked the very nice gentleman who seemed to be running the place for the bill for the tea and cheesecake because we didn’t get our food. He insisted we didn’t owe anything. Like I said, I was considering buying a house in the area..but if that’s how “nonlocals” are treated, I’m not sure it would be worth it.

First let me say the place is a very neat place to go. The building has history. The atmosphere was really nice.
The service was amazing and super friendly and kept my glass full.
I had the country fried steak with potatoes and Mac and cheese. The steak was good but it came with brown gravy, I just don’t care for brown gravy. The Mac and cheese was good.
It’s a nice place to take somebody.

Great food. Had the salmon and wild rice. The only night you HAVE to have reservations is Thursday night which is Bingo night… apparently a huge deal in the area, lol. Place was very clean, has good drinks, and the staff is exactly what you want at a restaurant.

Great food wonderful service. I stop in to this restaurant every chance I get. I love the specials especially when Jake finds good red snapper from the gulf. Often he has a good steak special. Jake is civic minded and does a bingo fundraiser each Thursday night where local clubs and charities make money.

Our server was nice. That’s the end of everything nice I have to say about Jakes. This place is dated, not cute dated, neglected dated. The food was laughable cheap quality. My wife’s “Ruben” looks like what your kids school cafeteria would make on Ruben day. Lunch meat corned beef on cheap sliced bread. The onion rings were terrible and the breading just fell off. This is on top of the forced upon 4% credit card fee and the anti-mask hostess. She felt obligated to tell us that “ You don’t got to wear those no more”
