This was our second visit, after finding this restaurant randomly on a drive in the area. We were so impressed by our first visit so wanted to try it again. We drove out from Toronto to enjoy and this visit did not disappoint.
We made reservations two weeks ago as this place gets very busy. If you do not have reservations, the wait can be almost 2 hours. They do however, have some space at the bar, which is what happened the first time. We needed a table this time around, as our 5 mos old infant is not quite ready for a high chair and we were quickly seated comfortably at a 4 seater table.
Our server greeted us immediately and while the menu was similar, it was a little different than our first visit. We ordered the oysters and fried calamari to start – fresh, delicious and great portions. The menu did not have the ribeye steak my partner was craving so he chose a steak with lobster and was extremely satisfied with it. I had the lobster roll again and enjoyed it immensely. The food was cooked perfectly to our liking – medium rare for the steak and tender and juicy lobster.
My partner and I enjoy seafood a lot and this is one of the best places to do so!! The 45min drive is totally worth it from Toronto. We’ve tried closer places like Oyster Boy, Rodney’s and Lobster Burger Bar downtown but Jake’s quality, prices, portions and flavour truly make it one of the best.
It would be a regular visit for us if we lived closer but we will also make the journey when we are really craving delicious food.

Went on a Valentine’s Day with family. Service ok server was busy. Food was exceptional, great ambiance, always happy to eat here. Seafood restaurant so price is what they are. But great burgers, steak and ribs here. Eaten pretty much everything. Very accommodating.

We tried the Taste of Burlington menu and it was excellent! The portions were big and the offerings were delicious. Great choice! $60 for an app., a main, and a dessert. Service was great – Kathy was super professional and helpful! Love the decor with wooden ships and oyster shell lamps. Overall a fantastic experience!

Our first time dining here and the entire experience was amazing. Danon was our server and she was incredible. She knew the menu inside out and was so personable and lovely. When we go back, having her serve us again will be non-negotiable. We started with Cajun calamari and it was delicious. Definitely try it if you enjoy calamari. My husband got the steak Oscar with lobster and he really loved it. I got the lobster pasta and I was impressed. I pretty much had a bite of lobster in every mouth full. The sauce was also so tasty. We ended our meal with the sticky toffee pudding and that was also really good. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and look forward to going back in the future and trying new things off of the menu

Went with friends on Valentines day weekend and they were so accommodating. We sat at the bar but saved us from looking elsewhere to eat. Service was fantastic and got to enjoy company of the bartenders as well. Food was delicious and alot more options than I remembered from years ago.

Awesome service, good, and atmosphere! Our server was the funniest and friendliest lady ever! Oysters were shucked fresh and came with a good variety of sauces. I loved the tuna salad! Such a great combination of ingredients like mandarin oranges, feta, and perfectly seared tuna. The lobster linguine was LOADAD and rainbow trout was also seared perfectly. SO GOOD. They also gave us a salted caramel crème brûlée for a birthday at our table, which was so nice! Delicious. 10/10 experience!

I visited Jake’s Grill Oyster & Steakhouse in Burlington last week and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and very fresh — I highly recommend the lobster. For groups of four or five, Le Grand Jake is an excellent choice: a generous seafood platter featuring 12 oysters (shucker’s choice), 8 shrimp cocktail, 4 bronzed scallops, a chilled Cuban lobster tail, and tuna poke with chips. It’s a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it to sample a variety of seafood.
I also had the lobster and seafood clam soup, which was outstanding. The service was extremely friendly, almost family-like. The ambiance feels like an old-school tavern — clean, welcoming, and full of character. This place definitely has soul and is well worth a visit.

Wow! What an incredible experience at Jake’s Grill and Oyster House! Exceptional service from our waitress Dannon. We ordered some dishes off of the seafood feature menu as well as the regular a la carte menu: moroccan octopus, lobster roll, 4oz tenderloin wrapped in bacon, and a dozen PEI oysters. Everything was super fresh, cooked to perfection, and portion sizes were generous. Moving onto dessert, we ordered the pumpkin crumble pie off of the feature menu and we had a chocolate soufflé – both were full of flavour. My boyfriend (who doesn’t enjoy pumpkin pie) thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin dish! Overall, an amazing experience, and we will be back for sure!

The seafood chowder was absolutely the highlight of the night, rich, flavorful, and a must if you’re visiting. I also had the fish and chips, which were decent.
The staff were wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming service throughout the meal.

Great dinner with the family. We’ve tried many things here. We had the lobster roll, lobster dinner, calamari, popcorn scallops and the tacos. Everything was great. The place was full and busy on a Friday. You may want to make reservations at peak times. Enjoy!
