I have no clue why I am the only person sitting here eating breakfast, but I am.
Prices are awesome, menu is varied, my waitress is efficient and friendly and the kitchen had my breakfast out in under 5 minutes. I don’t know what it’s like if it’s ever busy, but 5 minutes is pretty quick.
So if you’re ever poking around on South Elm Street in downtown Greensboro, give this place some love!!

I was served by Brianna, I can’t believe how awesome the experience was and how knowledgeable she was. I tried the country fried steak special and it was amazing. Will be asking all my friends to come to see Brianna and also try the specials! Also the drinks are great at the end of the day!

Ordered an omelette and said “a girl at work gave me some of their potatoes and onions and I wanted some”, offered a side. Ok great. Asked what came with the omelette, grits or gravy. I was offered the potatoes with the omelette instead. Even better. They still gave me the potatoes on the side AND added it to my omelette meal. So I paid about $17 for breakfast. $5 for side of potatoes, $2.50 to add it to my omelette meal. $8 for the omelette. Food was good though. Omelette could’ve had more cheese. Toast nice and buttery. Potatoes a bit hard this time. Oh, and they charge you extra for onions! Who does that? I’ll never go back for breakfast.

Customer service was great, I had a hot dog ATW, and O-rings. I know it’s called Jake’s Diner, but the food tastes like bar food. Not bad just mid. Nice atmosphere, to have been an old paint shop, very nice.

This is such a hidden gem! I stopped here after visiting the museum around the corner for some lunch with my two children and we were all pleased with our meals! The prices were very affordable and the service was very quick. Our waitress was very helpful and sweet!

I was excited to try Jake’s Diner but left disappointed. I ordered the Reuben with house-made chips, and it was a letdown. The Reuben looked like someone had already chewed up most of the meat before putting it on the bread—barely any sauerkraut, overloaded with Thousand Island dressing. The bread, a marble rye, was the only highlight. Unfortunately, the bread-to-meat ratio was about 99% bread, 1% filling.
The house-made chips were cold and soggy, adding to the disappointment. Overall, a terrible experience. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the server was friendly. For a $12 sandwich, I expected way better quality. Please train your kitchen staff on how to properly make a Reuben.

Absolutely horrible service. I called our order in. When i arrived, no one was at the counter where you pick up orders but I noticed one bagged order sitting there. I waited about 5 minutes. One waitress was taking orders near the kitchen and I’m not sure if she noticed me. The other, taller waitress looked like she was bringing napkins out to customers. She looked right at me then disappeared in the kitchen with the other waitress. About another 5 minutes later, they both exited the kitchen laughing and talking and proceeded to walk right by me (still waiting at the counter). I interrupted their conversation and asked if that order is for [my name]. She (the taller waitress) walked around counter and asked what my name was. Then just held the bag out as she continued her conversation. It took everything not to ask for a refund (I want going to give them a chance to remake the food and have me wait another 15 minutes) Of course, the food was lukewarm at best and the fries were just cold. We live under a mile away so they couldn’t have cooled down that much on the way home. I’ll pay a little more and travel a little further for way better service and warm food.

Second time going to this location and of course order is wrong again. TURKEY and pork are two different things I asked for turkey sausage why would y’all put pork bacon on the sandwich. Waste of time and money. This particular location sucks.

We want to eat at a diner. Coming from New York City, the diner location has been minimized. We were seated immediately. The service was very slow. However, the food made up for it.
