They have a humidor with plenty of selections but I chose to bring my own stick. The cocktails that are served and made here are probably the best in the city- they are crafted with care and detail and not just thrown into a glass and mixed. This is an elegant cigar lounge with elegantly made cocktails.
They have two large televisions at the bar that make it a perfect place to catch a game. I’ve been a cigar fan for a few years now and I regret to say I just recently gave this place a visit. I’ll be back and my visit my nothing short of perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys cigars and is looking for a relaxing experience.
We stopped at Jake’s Cigar Bar during a road trip because the place looked absolutely beautiful from the outside—stylish, modern, and very well designed. Unfortunately, the customer service was the complete opposite of the aesthetics.
I selected a cigar from the humidor (which was extremely overpriced) and went to the bar to ask for a drink suggestion for my wife. The two bartenders looked at me as if I was doing something wrong just for holding the cigar I intended to purchase. It was an uncomfortable moment, and to be honest, I couldn’t help but feel judged or singled out—maybe because I’m Latino. I truly felt discriminated against from the very beginning.
The bartender did recommend a drink my wife enjoyed, and then I ordered an Old Fashioned for myself. But the lack of basic hospitality for a cigar bar continued:
• No one offered a cutter or lighter.
• When I asked for a cutter, the bartender cut the cigar and walked away.
• When I asked for a lighter, she brought out a box of matches.
• After lighting my cigar, I walked to the seating area and found no ashtrays anywhere, so I had to go back to the bar to ask again—where I was handed one with clear attitude.
All of this happened before I paid for both drinks and the cigar, yet I still felt as though they viewed me like someone trying to steal it. Completely unnecessary and disrespectful.
This was an unfortunate experience. If I were a local, I wouldn’t return. A place this beautiful deserves staff trained in hospitality, professionalism, and proper cigar etiquette. I regret leaving a 20% tip, but I always try to be fair—something I wish I could say about the service I received.
PS: Music absolutely horrible.
I love the decor – primarily earthy tones & low lighting. The atmosphere is very relax & the bar staff is friendly. Lol they also are very patient because I asked quite a few questions about bourbon. I decided to experiment a little with my drink & ordered an Expresso Martini with Basil Hayden Absolutely adore this combination & it is will be the only way that I will drink an Expresso Martini moving forward.
I tried a cigar for the first time. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. There’s a room filled with various cigar brands & you choose the one that you want. I don’t remember the cigar brand that I chose but it was flavored ♀️ I also met a group of fellow veterans who were lounging near the bar & we had a very boisterous & jovial exchange. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely visit Jake’s Cigar Bar again.
I will say the bourbon pour was very weak, measured to the milliliter (repeatedly on one pour). I don’t expect you to give anything away, but the tiny one ounce pour was very atypical of most cigar bars of this type.
The wall of liquors was very impressive as was the sight of the bartender climbing the tall ladder to get them. We’re talking about a two story top shelf.
The staff and clientele were nice and I will try and go back if I’m in the area again.
Fair inventory selection however, was sold out of several options.
Nice seating options.
Several indoor and outdoor options.
Cornhole play area outside.
Large selection of drink options.
Staff fast and friendly.
First time to this location.
I have not been to any other locations in Lexington area to compare.
It appears to get very busy on the weekend evenings. So get there early if you want a seat. Appears several local regulars visit.
If you’re a fellow cigar lover, you gotta check out Jake’s Cigar Lounge – you won’t be disappointed!
