I had the brisket sandwich with fried okra. My husband had a platter with chicken and sausage, which came with a salad and onion rings. Corn bread sticks served before dinner.
The brisket was lean and tender. Very smoky with a good sauce. Much closer to Texas style I’m used to that Southern. Very good. Had a taste of the sausage, and it was good, too.
The restaurant itself is fairly ordinary; nothing fancy at all. A bit of Western decor. Unfortunately, the background music was noisy, and the hard surfaces made it worse.

I came in for a late lunch and ordered the brisket platter with mac and cheese and onion rings. The brisket was cooked perfectly — no need for a knife, just a fork. Really friendly and a nice spot as well. I will be back!

Delicious! Stopped by after a long drive and soccer match at Bender Fields. Had a hefty, juicy pulled-pork sandwich and sweet potato fries as the side that were perfectly crispy outside, soft inside. My sidekick had the brisket sandwich kids meal and loved it.

I’ve been here twice now and it has just been disappointing. My fiance likes the pulled pork sandwich but that might be the only decent entree. I had a burger that was slathered- top and bottom bun- with a horrifying amount of mayo.
I asked for no mushrooms but several had found their way on to my burger… but not enough to feel like they actually put a handful on, but enough to make me think the kitchen is dirty or messy and they clung on the spatula or grill. The meat itself had a very off flavor and tasted like freezer.
I wouldn’t say anything there is “fresh”. I won’t be returning solely because of the food. Service was wonderful, staff was quick and attentive. They were cleaning everything in the dining room and it seemed well kept. The kitchen needs some help though.

I have never left a review of a restaurant before but the food was so good i needed to! I had the tir tip with vegetables, mashed potatoes and my husband had the brisket with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. The barbecue was excellent, meat was juicy ,tender and delicious. The veg of broccoli was fresh and hot! Cornbread, scrumptious.
Price for all the generous amount of food we got was great!

So impressed! We showed up as a party of 19 and had the best dining experience I’ve had in a long long time. Everyone from the little kids to our 89 year-old grand mother was raving about the food. The service was perfect and the kitchen timed everything like we were the only ones there (the restaurant was actually fully seated the whole night)
As a veteran of the restaurant industry, I feel like I’m hard to impress but tonight’s experience was so good that I feel compelled get online to leave Jake’s a 5 star review. Well done!

I grew up in the south and I’ve traveled the country for a living for the past 18 years. I’ve had bbq about every way you can think of and Jake’s is up there with the best.
My order was a delivery order which I was told would take 25-30 minutes. My order arrived in under 15 minutes. The young lady that took my phone order was cheerful, courteous, helpful, and patient. The young lady who delivered my food was every bit as cordial.
My food was hot, secure and spill free. The brisket was very moist, smokey, and tender. The ribs were cooked perfectly, tender, moist, yet maintaining a good bite and chew; pulled cleanly from the bone. The Mac-n-cheese was a solid side. The beans, however, were outstanding, as was the sweet cornbread (reminded me of home).
Between the wonderful service, the near perfect cook on the meat, the serving sizes and the attention to detail on the sides, Jake’s is an incredible value for the money. I would recommend them to any and everyone who lives or travels to Lynden. Thank you for your hard work! It’s wonderful to see this much pride and care put into a product!!!!!

I had the double cheese and bacon burger from their Underground Burger menu.
Absolutely wonderful!
I was a Five Guys fan, but they’ve reduced their burger patty so small that you’d be lucky if it’s even 3 ounces anymore.
Underground is my new go to place in Lynden or anywhere.
