I had enjoyed a very nice lunch in July. Consequently, I decided to treat my family to a nice dinner here during on of their visits. It was a terrible experience. Despite having made a reservation for 6:00 pm, we waited almost a half hour for our order to be taken and to receive our drinks. This was when there were only two other tables with customers in the restaurant. It went down hill from there. We did not receive our meal until after 8:00, despite repeated assurances that our meal would be out momentarily. The food was not worth the wait -average food at high price. We will never return.

I would like to say I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant with my 3 girlfriends that we looked forward to for months. I would like to say that the staff is friendly, helpful and professional. I would like to say I can’t wait to come back again. Unfortunately, that is not the case. While trying to use a LS voucher I encounter treatment that I can only describe as surreal bordering on insane! I was accused by Carly of blaming her for the restrictions of the voucher, when all I was attempting to do was ask her questions she was not capable of competently answering. When Jenel, the manager, called me back I thought finally, surely this person will be competent. Wrong again. She clearly had an agenda for the call, and it was not to amicably settle the situation. The conversation quickly spiraled downward when she accused me of being rude, but could give no concrete examples when I repeatedly asked her to do so. She followed that up with “I suggest you get your money back from LS because I don’t think you will have a positive dining experience if you come in “. At some point I guess she was trying to be my friend and addressed me as honey, clearly she was confused as to the nature of our relationship at that point. After I asked her if she was insane, I told her I agreed with her and would never set foot inside of any asylum she roamed. I assume if a business sells their services through LS its because they need the business, that will hopefully become repeat business and customers would be willing to eventually pay full price for their services. It seems that this business, or its employees, are operating off of a reverse business model not taught in any business school I’m familiar with. My friends and I quickly regrouped where we had a wonderful evening at The Tavern, where the staff is friendly, helpful and professional! Love them and will return again and again.

Bacon wrapped dates, need I say more? This place has great food and is cozy and romantic. Usually has good wine choices to go with the food. The specials are usually worth ordering but you can never go wrong with the croque Madame.

We had the best time here today. The food was exquisite; everything from the cheese plate and croissants to the smoked trout and frites to the omlette and bacon. We were in heaven. The servers were sweet and having brunch in the garden was such a treat. We can’t wait to go back.

The trout was excellent, as was the risotto. However the escargots were tiny and flavorless, which was surprising for a French restaurant. Service was attentive and polite. I’ll return, but I’ll skip the appetizer when I do.

I loved the wonderful feel and atmosphere of Jaja Bistro. We enjoyed the rich tastes and the steamed mussels with blue cheese and bacon were delicious. The wine was wonderful. All around a wonderful evening.

The service wasn’t bad and the atmosphere was nice HOWEVER….We paid $130 for dinner and there were 3 small mussels on our appetiser, ONE slice of cheese on my french onion soup, 7 tiny flakes of fish on my supposedly trout pasta, and 2 pieces of bone marrow next to my husband’s bone marrow salad.

I really like the vibe here and the food is great. I had a french ham sandwich and it was awesome. Service was really helpful, not at all snobby.

I had very high hopes for jaja. It looks lovely from outside, excudes excellent charm, and has so much potential to be wonderful. Menu looked delicious and mouthwatering, i had a hard time even deciding which delightful sounding dish to try. From there, it went down hill like a rollercoaster. The service was superbly slow, slower than slow, unbelievably slow. The staff was inattentive and oblivious. We saw numerous parties arrive, wait in the foyer, and leave after being greeted by no one for 10 min. One patient party waited an eon, was finally seated, and then waited so for their order to be taken so long they finally got up and left. My omelet arrived centuries later, luke cold, watery, and shockingly bland. The potatoes were greasy and limp. The bread hard like a crouton. There was no salt/pepper on the table, no biggie. But trying to catch someone’s attention to get some proved impossible. Servers came and went, passing with backs to us, running by without glancing our way, bussing tables while we tried to catch their attention. Finally I walked to the kitchen to ask. The waitress agreed to bring the simple seasonings and then decidedly disappeared. After waiting in vain for her to return, I finally caught another waitress who brought a shaker to the table. By this time everything was solidly cold and even more unappetizingly soggy than it had already been. Getting the check practically took an act of God and then I had to hunt someone down to even process our payment. We walked out completely disappointed and honestly incredulous at the poor experience. Despite my high expectations, Jaja certainly left bad taste in our mouths.
