When I saw the reviews for this place I thought “I gotta check this out.” Really glad I did as I was leaving Charlottesville heading north on 29.
It looks like any other Mom & Pop gas station from the road, and even when you first go inside. It’s when you walk to the back of the building the aroma from the flat top hits you and you can hear the sizzle. There are a couple kiosks to take your order (which is totally customizable), and then you grab your ticket from the machine and wait.
I ordered the fish sandwich with a fried egg (for about $6.50) and it was everything I was looking for: a really hot fish filet with a perfectly cooked egg on a bun that warms up and is the perfect vehicle to get the proteins in your mouth. I honestly wish I would’ve ordered two.
If I’m ever in the area around lunchtime again I’ll definitely stop. Staff was super nice and gas was reasonably priced.

Very nice place at the Citgo fuel station. Its in the middle of no-where.
I came close to the kitchen closing time but they were really helpful in fixing me a sandwich.
Everything is automated inside and service is quick.
Clean bathrooms too.

Amazing people, great food, very personable. Highly reccomend!! Everything food wise is fantastic and fresh to order!! Recoomend checking out the soups, she makes it homemade and switches it up every several days! Chicken noodle soup is by far my favorite so far.

JAG’S has got to be THE best stop for really good food and service between Charlottesville and Warrenton!!!! The food is excellent and made fresh to order and comes out fast. Sameer is THE best when it comes to the food they make for you…..and you MUST have the macaroni salad, and the meat loaf (get a large meal so you have some for a meatloaf samich the next day!). All of the sammichs are so good, including the burgers and barbeque and chicken……and guess what….they have KRINKLE FRIES !!!!!!!! Everything is soooo good and everyone there makes you feel right at home and they are so friendly. Oh, and they have banana pudding too!!!! Stop by on your way up 29 North in Brightwood and enjoy!!!!!! Thanks Jag’s!!!! You all are THE best!!!
