Super fresh and extremely tasty! The gyro meat was tender and flavorful, the falafel was crispy and seasoned perfectly.
Best tzatziki I’ve ever had, the pitas are flame toasted and the hummus was great.
It’s in a really cool and repurposed bank. Service was quick and very very friendly.
Definitely a gem I wasn’t expecting to come across.

The food was extremely plain — no seasoning, no garlic, and very little flavor overall. The shredded chicken we were served looked nothing like the chicken kabobs shown on the menu, yet we were told that the dish was as pictured. What was presented did not match what was advertised.
When we addressed this, the response from staff was defensive rather than solution-oriented. Instead of acknowledging the concern or attempting to correct it, we were met with attitude.
Between the lack of flavor and the poor handling of feedback, this was a disappointing experience.

Recommended by a friend, we stopped tonight while passing through. Food was excellent and the service was friendly! We enjoyed a gyro platter & a chicken platter. Topped off with baklava & ice cream for dessert…delicious! Prices were a little high but well worth it.

Jafar’s is one of the best restaurants in town and one of the best Mediterranean restaurants around! We love everything he makes but really enjoy all his hummus flavors and pita bread as well as gyros wraps and platters and falafels! We are local he is at the top of our list for takeout!

We stopped in to grab food to go for a baseball game and the service was great! Very friendly and let us look around the historic building while our food was being prepared. The hummus is the best I’ve ever had and the gyro was wonderful! We will be back!

Did not expect to love this place so much, but our expectations were blown out of the water. The gyro flatbread wraps were very good and the fries were delicious. It’s quiet and easy to talk, and service was so kind and accommodating.

Pros: Great service. They really care about their customers. Veggies are fresh and tasty, so are the dressings and sauces. The toilet paper in the restroom is nice and soft.
Cons: Prices are high, bathroom doors are dirty, and the gyro meat smells, looks, and is the consistency of wet canned dog food, not slices off the rotisserie like gyro meat is supposed to be. I’m not saying it is dogfood, just that it smells, looks, and had the consistency of it, and not like authentic gyro meat.
I’d be willing to try their chicken next time, hopefully it would be grilled chicken slices and not have this mystery meat consistency like the gyros meats.

Love the gyro wraps, Greek salad, fries, and hummus sampler. Incredibly friendly staff and owners. Great pricing and such a gem in downtown Van Alstyne.
